I am just popping up out of retirement to tell you all about this exciting event I am organising in my new (well, I've been doing it over a year!) role of Events Co-ordinator at Parenting Special Children. Hey! It’s me!! 👋

Just popped back on to give all you jam lovers who are missing my jars the heads up. Fidget & Bob on Kennet Island still have some of my jars. I went over today for a lovely lunch of noodles and dumplings and spied them on the shelf. They look a bit lonely and are looking for a home. Why not pop over and save one or two?! ❤️

Yesterday I finally managed to visit Sheabutter Cottage on Henley Rd and met the wonderful Akua Wood. Akua sells the most amazing products either made or inspired by her home country of Ghana. From beautiful fabrics and bags to beard oil and cocoa butter soap bars, plus everything in between. It really is worth a visit, especially as Akua gives the best hugs in Caversham!! Thank you Akua for being so welcoming, my friend loves her birthday gifts. Next time I’ll definitely bring tea and cake and I’ll spend the afternoon in your beautiful shop!

Todays amazing grub comes courtesy of at . Walked up straight from the school run through Clayfield Copse to ensure we had the first brunch off the hot plate. An army of Mums and one dog were happily satisfied by plates of food and doggy ice creams 🥓

It’s impossible to drive on the A33 and not stop at Fidget & Bob for a spot of solo lunching - FACT. A hummus and pakora wrap is the perfect accompaniment to a hot day like today. And seeing the lovely Breege and Shu is welcome on any day, whatever the weather!

I’ve given up the jam pan to hangout with this lovely one. Every Tuesday and Wednesday you can find me in Dee Caf in Tilehurst. Come and say hi 👋 If you haven’t visited before you are in for a real treat when you do. Wonderful food, fabulous coffee and amazing treats. The staff are pretty good too 👍🏼

I want to share some news with you. June will be my final month of jam making as I have decided wind up the business. Sad news for a lot of you I know. This is due to a number of reasons including the rising cost of ingredients and fuel prices but also for health and well-being needs. Things are tough right now and I need to make hard decisions.

I have actually got a two day a week job and start there in early June. I can’t wait to be part of a team again and to be working alongside others. I’m really pleased I’ve made this decision and feel like I’ve taken jam making as far as I can go with it. I guess I’ll be leaving it on a high.

You’ll be able to come and buy the last of my jars on 12th June at the Reading Indie Market at Double Barrelled Brewery on Portman Rd.

Thanks for being such loyal jam customers over the last six years. It’s been a pleasure to serve you. ❤️
