No man is an island - We’ve thought long and hard about today’s post and indeed what we might post in the coming weeks and months and have found it incredibly difficult to find the right words and the right tone, too light hearted, too doom and gloom. Nervous Bird has always been about showing you snippets from our real life basket adventures, it has never been about the ‘hard sell’ and so it doesn’t sit well with us to talk about holiday trips which are increasingly unlikely to happen, running errands when the shops are struggling with demand and using pretty storage baskets for spring cleaning when people are unable to get soap and toilet roll. As mums we face the possibility of our children being sent home from school and our own parents having to self isolate for potentially months. All of these things will impact our normal activities and consequently what we would usually like to share with you guys. However, we also realise that these little squares can be a form of escapism particularly for those who may have to isolate themselves away. So although we may post a little less as things progress you may also start to see a mixture of posts from us, photos that aren’t necessarily about baskets (although you can guarantee they will be swinging from our arms) but might just be something pretty we’ve taken a snap of to add a little cheeriness. We may also throw in the odd holiday shot from past trips and pics of us using our baskets out and about while we can. We are still able to take orders at the moment and will be delighted as always to paint a beautiful basket for you while we can. Wishing you all health and happiness in the coming weeks. ❤️xx
