To help schools celebrate World Book Day season, we've created a range of free downloadable activities and videos featuring authors reading extracts from their books – all of which are in our recommended reads for this exciting annual event. From EYFS to KS4, as well as ESL and SEN, there's a book for children of all ages and reading abilities.

😍😍😍5️⃣0️⃣🥳🎊

Having been awarded the CBE by Queen Elizabeth II in the 2022 New Year's Honours List, Peter Usborne went to Windsor Castle yesterday to receive his medal from King Charles III.

Peter set up Usborne in 1973 when he found out he was going to become a parent, and went on to revolutionise children's publishing. 50 years later he was awarded a CBE for Services to Literature.

Nicola Usborne has taken on the mantle of MD from her dad, and we are still guided by Peter’s original vision: every book that we have ever published – and ever will – aims to spark curiosity.

Generations of children have read, explored, enjoyed, been inspired by or learned something from an Usborne book over the last 50 years. On behalf of all those children, thank you Peter - and congratulations!

Peter would like to pass on his thanks to everyone who has supported Usborne Publishing over the years, not least the thousands and thousands of Independent Usborne Partners who have shared Usborne books in their communities, reaching children and families wherever they are. Together we've created a legacy to be proud of, and there's plenty more to come 🥰📖💛
