Happy Tuesday! Popping back into your feed with some interesting info tonight 👋🏻

A survey found that 1 in 10 families throw their children’s school uniforms away once they have outgrown them, even if they are still in a wearable condition 😮. Not very good, right? Well, what’s more is that recent figures suggest that extending the lifespan of clothes by just 3 months could result in a 5-10% reduction in carbon, water and waste footprints 👣 .

Our Box & Hanger events are trying to support families to make these impacts on waste reduction, and save a bit of £££ in the process! Win-win! 🙌🏼

Well hello there 👋🏻 nice to meet you! We are Box & Hanger, a community project working to extend the life of school uniforms in the UK 🇬🇧. We’re really excited to have our first Facebook post up, and look forward to engaging with you all more 🌍. Please share this with friends and family and pop into our DMs if you have questions OR if you’d like to ask about volunteering with the project 😉. Hi! We are Box & Hanger. We are a new project from The Climate Venture Collective. We want to help make clothes more affordable and be used longer by bringing communities together to trade and swap clothes, and giving them a new lease of life.

We are starting with school uniforms, working with schools, families and students to run our events, and partnering with organisations to provide workshops, tailoring services and sponsored stalls.
