About Jenson
Jenson (not his real name)is a funny, chatty thirteen-year-old with a brilliant sense of humour and plenty to say! He enjoys gaming on his tablet and PS4, spending time with his family and his dog Molly, relaxing on Saturdays, and heading out for an adventure on Sundays.
Jenson is a fulltime wheelchair user and needs practical healthcare support. He is bright, sociable and full of personality. We are looking for an upbeat, reliable Personal Assistant who can help him get the most from school, home life and days out.
The Role
• Help Jenson get ready for school and accompany him during the school day.
• Support his care needs, including tracheostomy ventilation, PEG feeding, nebulisers and suction.
• Provide support at home when he is not at school.
• Work alongside another carer as part of Jenson’s two-to-one support team.
• Encourage independence, confidence and fun in everyday activities.
Hours and Pay
Hours: 30 hours per week, with shifts between 8:30 am and 8:30 pm or 8.00pm-8.00am
Pay: £14.36 per hour.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and safety-conscious Personal Assistant to support a 13-year-old who enjoys being active and getting out and about. This is a rewarding opportunity to build a positive relationship while helping him access activities, develop confidence and enjoy greater independence.
Hours and pay
• Hours: 4 hours per week during term time and 10 hours per week during school holidays
• Rate: £13.45 per hour
• When: Weekends during term time, with flexible hours in the school holidays
What he enjoys
He loves trampolining, trips to the park, kicking a ball around, swimming, soft play, music, sensory lights and travelling on public transport. He also enjoys affection and responds well to calm, reassuring support.
What you’ll do
• Plan and enjoy fun activities in the community
• Provide attentive one-to-one support while out and about
• Maintain close supervision near roads and in busy public places
• Use a calm, patient and consistent approach when he feels overwhelmed
• Help him stay safe, including reinforcing awareness around strangers
At times, he may communicate distress by shouting or screaming, particularly in crowded or noisy environments. He does not like hand dryers or messy play, so someone who can recognise sensory triggers and offer calm reassurance will be important.
About you
You will be dependable, patient and enthusiastic, with the confidence to support an active young person safely in the community.
• A driver with access to a suitable, insured vehicle
• Previous experience supporting young people with autism or additional needs is desirable
• A confident swimmer who is happy to support swimming activities
• Alert and safety-focused, particularly around roads
• Calm, caring and comfortable providing consistent boundaries
