Well it's nearly two years since I retired and closed Pickwicks. The time has gone by, and the few ex customers I've seen around Prestatyn know I still miss the shop, my customers and the excitement of Christmas.
I have got involved with collecting for the Ukraine. Last week my daughter Karen and I made up Christmas boxes which she took to Wrexham.
Speaking to Anna Buckley of PISC Christmas Bridge, she was told that they are desparate for warm winter clothing, food, toiletries, medicines, sleeping bags,quilts, anything to keep them warm. Can you imagine loosing your home and sleeping underground on concrete floors, I CANT.. Not only have they lost their homes, shops, schools, hospitals, they may only have the clothes they stand in.
Although it's been cold here, I have managed to go around some of the charity shops and bought warm winter baby and children's clothes. All washed and ready for packing.
We have until Friday to collect what we can to take to Wrexham on Saturday.

they are next door to RIVER ISLAND.
