Now that the dust has settled on the exhibition and I’ve had a chance to process it all I want to say thank you to everyone who came through the doors over the weekend.
This has been a week of real highs and difficult lows, but the kindness + support from everyone has been so encouraging.
I’ve never had an exhibition like it.
The turnout of people and the support for this work has been incredible. I knew I had created a special collection and that it was my best work yet, but I’m so glad that it resonated and connected with so many of you too.
This time last week, I didn’t know if the exhibition would even go ahead after I re-tore my ACL.
After a long year of work to return the first time, I’m now back at the start of the next rehab process. Sometimes these things just happen, I know I have what it takes to go again.
In a way the exhibition came at the perfect time. It was a great distraction and forced me to get out of my self-pity and get on with things.
There’s more to life than sports but it can be hard to see that when you’re in the GAA bubble.
So once again, thank you everyone.
It was great to catch up with l familiar faces and also meet loads of you for the first time.
I’ll be seeing red dots in my sleep.
🙏
