FLUP! has landed at Babipur Towers! 🚀

Sent flying from Germany, across Europe, and into the waiting hands of the Babipur team here in Porthmadog, Cymru.

We first discovered FLUP! at Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg this January, and it was probably the most exciting and fun thing we saw at the whole show. We knew straight away that we wanted to bring it to Babipur.

FLUP! is a brilliantly simple throwing and catching game for two. Each player uses two wooden sticks and a fabric sling to launch the soft throwing bag back and forth. Start with smaller cooperative catches, then see how high, far and ambitious you can make your throws. It gets children and adults moving together, building timing, coordination and teamwork, with plenty of frantic scrambling along the way.

It feels very at home at Babipur, too. The sticks are made from locally sourced beechwood, the slings give discarded cotton bed linen a new life and are coloured with plant-based dyes, and the soft millet-filled throwing bag is made from vegan, plastic-free cork leather. FLUP! is made in Germany with local family businesses and workshops supporting people with disabilities.

FLUP! by TicToys has officially launched at Babipur today!

We asked the dads from Team Babipur what they’d like for Father’s Day 🥰
Paul, Rich and Mike all agreed that you can’t go wrong with Silverstick socks, a Klean Kanteen, Soap Mine soap, Ocelot chocolate or a Black + Blum meal prep box.

Useful. High quality. Made to last. Gifts they’ll genuinely enjoy long after Father’s Day has passed.
We’ve just updated our Father’s Day Gift Shop, find the link in our stories!

Happy 45th birthday to the wonderful PlanToys!

To celebrate, you can get 20% off all PlanToys at Babipur until Monday with code PLAN45.

We’re also sharing some pictures from when we visited the PlanToys factory in Thailand eight years ago, but just where do we even start with this brand?

We visited the rubber tree plantations, a short distance from the factory, and saw the rubber being taken from the trees. Once those trees no longer produce latex, PlanToys use the wood to make toys, rather than letting it go to waste.

Then there was the factory itself. The care, the thought, the cleverness of it all. The dust from production was not just swept away, it was collected and used to make PlanWood. They make their own plywood for toys too, using their own non-formaldehyde glue because standard plywood production did not meet the standard they wanted for children, workers, or the planet.

That bit really stayed with us. PlanToys have never just accepted “this is how it’s usually done.” They keep looking at every stage and asking how it could be better.

And it was not just the toys. It was how people were treated. The staff canteen, the free basics, the cooperative shop so workers could buy groceries at better prices, the care for the local community, the children’s spaces, the energy systems, the way waste from one part of the process became useful somewhere else.

PlanToys have been doing this since the start. Long before “eco toys” became a phrase people used in marketing, they were already building the whole thing into how they worked.

We’ve loved PlanToys for years because the toys are brilliant for children, but also because the story behind them is real. Clever design, responsible materials, proper care for people, and a huge amount of thought in every little wooden piece.

Happy 45th, PlanToys. What a brand 🙌

It’s Wear Them Wednesday, so this feels like the perfect day to launch something very special at Babipur 💛

New today: DIDYMOS baby carriers.
We met the DIDYMOS team back in September and have been waiting to bring these to Babipur ever since, so it feels very good to finally say they’re here.

DIDYMOS are one of the real pioneers of modern babywearing. Founded in Germany in 1972, they have over 50 years of experience in woven wraps, baby carriers, and carrying babies close in a way that feels practical, comfortable, and connected.

We’ve chosen three carriers to start with:
The DidyFix is the easy full buckle one. No tying, just fasten, adjust, and carry close from baby days through to toddlerhood.

The DidyFlow is the soft half buckle one, with a buckled waistband and tie-on shoulder straps. It gives you that lovely woven wrap feel, but in a more intuitive carrier design.

The DidyFix Toddler is for bigger babies and toddlers, because babywearing does not have to stop once little legs start walking. In fact, that’s often when you need it most.

And yes, there’s a toy carrier too, so dolls and teddies can come along properly carried as well.
We’re really excited about these. Natural fabrics, proper babywearing heritage, thoughtful adjustability, and that close, hands-free, everyday comfort that makes so much sense for family life.
A very good Wear Them Wednesday, really.

We’ve been spending a lot of time with Ostheimer lately.

Photgraphibg them, in little hands, outside on stone walls, tucked into small world scenes, beside trees, baskets, and in play to help you really see them.

Because we want you to see their size and shape in a child’s hand. The grain of the wood, the soft colours, the gentle expressions.

We’ve taken hundreds of new photos and added them to the Babipur website ❤️

Each figure is made in Germany from wood, sawn, sanded, shaped, painted, and oiled by hand.

Huge thanks to Emma for arranging the photoshoot!

Lola the Babipur campervan or Fagus vehicles, which would you choose?

Well, Lola’s not for sale… but our Fagus delivery is now live!

Fagus toys are handmade in Germany by skilled craft workers in a social workshop where disabled people are supported with meaningful, consistent work. Each person has a role that suits their strengths, and you can feel that care in the finished toys, from the smooth beech wood to the working steering, moving parts, and solid joinery.

Oli&Carol restocked at Babipur 🍅🥬

Soft, squidgy, colourful, grabbable, chewable, rollable, and full of lovely sensory detail, they’re brilliant for babies exploring with their mouths, toddlers filling baskets, sorting fruit and veg, making pretend soup, taking them into the bath, rolling them across the floor, or carrying one about like a tiny prized cabbage.

They’re made from 100% natural rubber from Hevea trees, with no plastic, and hand-painted with natural-based colours. Many of the bath and teether designs are made in one piece with no holes too, which is such a clever bit of design because it helps stop water getting trapped inside.

It’s estimated that around 90% of all toys sold today are made from plastic, so brands like Oli&Carol are still very much in the minority. They are tactile, practical, and made with end of life in mind too. 🌍

We love working with Oli&Carol because they don’t just make “eco” versions of baby toys. They make beautiful, funny, useful little objects that children genuinely enjoy. A tomato, a cabbage, a radish, a watermelon, a cauli with a lovely squish to it, tiny veg-shop treasure for gums, hands, baths, baskets, kitchens, and little everyday games.
