The town council has confirmed that they will not be able to replace the star this Christmas due to the damage caused

We are aware that the Pontypridd Town Centre Christmas Tree has been vandalised overnight. Town Council staff have evaluated the damage and unfortunately it will not be possible to return the star to the top of the tree this Christmas. If anyone has any further information regarding the incident, please contact the Police. We are very sorry this mindless act has distressed so many people and our thanks go out to all those who have reported it.

Asda brings back its popular £1 "Winter Warmer" deal for over-60s! 🥣☕

To help support older customers during the colder months, Asda has announced the return of its café initiative. Those aged 60 and over can visit any Asda café to enjoy a bowl of soup, a bread roll, and unlimited tea or coffee for just £1.

The offer includes a choice of Tomato or Chicken soup and will be available until the end of February 2026. It’s a fantastic way for the community to stay warm and connected this winter.

To mark Armed Forces Day, Stagecoach South Wales is offering free bus travel across South East Wales to serving military personnel, veterans, and cadets on 27, 28, and 29 June 2025.

✅ Serving military can travel for free by wearing uniform or presenting a valid military ID
✅ Veterans can show a veterans’ badge or military medal
✅ Cadets in uniform are also entitled to free travel

This offer is valid on all Stagecoach South Wales local bus services.

Stagecoach South Wales is proud to honour and support the Armed Forces community, including through its Veterans Network – a colleague-led group supporting service leavers, veterans, reservists, and military families across the business.
