Online models wanted, to showcase our new bundle bags! πŸ˜€πŸ’ƒ

Do you love fashion and clothing? Do you like making content and showcasing on social media? Would you like to help a local Pontypridd charity shop promote their new concept?

If you answered yes then we'd love to hear from you. We are currently looking for some people who would like one of our new bundle bags of clothing for FREE, in exchange for a short video, photos or review of our new range.

As a charity we can't offer payment and we also aren't looking for polished influencers with top of the range equipment and a huge follower base. We want REAL PEOPLE giving their real views on our unfiltered bags. We always want to be transparent and open with our supporters, so aside from the fact we have no budget anyway πŸ™ˆ we do also feel that letting some real people pick a bag from the store and make some authentic content around it is the best way to promote these.

If you would like to be considered then please get in touch, there is a limited number we can give away, but we are genuinely open to any person who'd like to get involved having the chance. All we ask is that you make some authentic content (it can be a video, photo, review, post etc and on any platform) then either tag us or send us the link so that we can share this to help us promote the bags πŸ˜€

This is a new process for us, however if we get enough interest we may then offer some of you more regular chances to trial and promote items.

For all our regular supporters and followers who aren't inclined to become famous, don't worry as we have a promotion launching soon where you can get involved in the buzz around Cath's Bundle Bags! πŸŽ‰

(Just for clarity, there is no payment on offer and we cannot deliver the bags. Bags need to be collected from Taff Street, Pontypridd. Bags are available from pre-made selection only and can include childrens, womens and mens. If a family or couple wish to be involved then we can offer a bag per person, dependent on available sizing at time of collection.)

Have you tried one of our Bundle Bags yet?

Last week as part of our switch around in-store we also introduced Bundle Bags. These are bags of "decoded" clothing sorted into sizes and offered for sale to help divert more clothing from the "rag man".

What does "decoded" mean?

When we process donations we check them for quality and cleanliness, plus we check the pockets (no-one wants paper in their washing machine), before we attach a tag and price sticker. On the tag we write a number between 1 & 52/3, this number isn't random, it's actually the week of the year the item was placed in-store for sale.

To keep stock rotated we then remove items that haven't sold from the rails after two weeks. The week number is essentially a "code" and when we "decode" we are simply taking off anything that has been out more than two weeks. So if today is week 12 we would take off items week 10 or below.

These items aren't damaged or faulty, they simply didn't sell. Previously some of these got sent to other stores in limited numbers, some made it to a reduced last chance rail and some got sent away with the "rag man".

To try and reduce the amount of items sent to "rags" we are now selling bags of the clothes and the more you buy the less that gets "ragged".

These bags are priced at Β£3 for adults and Β£2 for childrens. We will also have some bags that need slight repairs or are a complete mix and will be priced at just Β£1.

We've put "rags" in inverted commas for a reason. We'd hate for people to think we simply rag and waste their unsold donations. The process is more complex than that, but in a short post it is difficult to describe fully. So we will make more posts in the coming weeks and months to show you how things work behind the scenes and what happens to unsold items. In short what many people term as "rags" is actually recycling merchants and most clothes live on many years after the "rag man" collects them.

If you haven't tried a bag yet then stay tuned for an exciting promotion starting tomorrow.

We've cheated by using an AI model for this video of a bag being opened, but that's because we want YOU to make us something better! Yes you!

If you would like to make a video, photos or something else creative to showcase our Bundle Bags then we have a limited number to offer FREE in exchange for you making a post online about it. We don't need you to be a polished professional influencer, we want real people opening real bags and giving their real opinion on them πŸ˜ƒ

Get in touch if you'd like a bag to take part πŸ˜ƒ

β€œFor too long, children have been put in harm’s way - left to navigate an online world, and the risks that come with it, alone.” - Lynn Perry, CEO.

The proposed ban on social media for under-16s aims to change that, and we welcome action that puts children’s safety first.

We know this is a complex issue. Social media can help young people connect, learn and feel supported. But too often, they are exposed to harmful and inappropriate content from a very young age.

As Lynn outlines, this isn’t a silver bullet. Children tell us every day about the impact this harmful content is having on them.

Real change means:

βœ… Safer platforms by design
βœ… Stronger protections from harmful content
βœ… Listening to children and young people

Because every child deserves to feel safe - online and offline. πŸ’š
