Only accepting hot drinks in my new emperor moth mugs from now on. ☕️ I can’t express how amazing it feels to hold these in my hands and sip tea from them as I paint. This is me with my lil sample child but the finished and refined box of mugs arrived yesterday and they’re glorious! I’ve got packaging to design, a website to update, photographs to take and a week away in between but these beauties will be on sale by the end of the month so keep your eyes peeled ❤️

The hall is full of the most talented makers, the atmosphere is lovely, the cafe is smelling heavenly and I’m here with some new moth prints, snacks and a good book. Look forward to seeing you soon. 🌿✨

Last month was full of tiny wonders…
Witnessing life emerging from underground nests or transforming from one form to another at the edge of my pond. Yet always, the reminder that life is precious and finite, as I walked past the skeletal remains of a creature under the setting solstice sun on a Dartmoor tor. The realisation that life is so short, yet so full of potential has really spurred me on to grasp my dream of running a creative business with both hands. June was the month for taking a true leap of faith into the unknown and ordering products which will soon come to fruition. I can’t wait to show you all when they’re ready to share 🌿✨

🌞 Summer Solstice 🌞

I’ve been feeling pretty dark this past month but the setting solstice sun worked its magic last night and I’ve carried its glow with me into today.

I scrambled a mile across the moors on my own, in sandals with an almost-dead-phone and no blanket, torch or water just to catch it… (sorry Mum) and I’m so glad that I did.

•I had a tor to myself,
•watched a pair of orange butterflies circling one another below,
•bathed my freaky little needle-felted Litha sunshine in the setting sun,
•asked some questions and pulled some cards,
•said aloud everything in my life that I felt proud of and let them get whisked away in the wind,
•saw some bones,
•watched cotton grass blow in the breeze, reflected like little white starts against a setting sky in the boggy puddles,
•collected some white wool (which will be added to my felted Litha sun) and a black feather and made my way back to the car,
•smiled at all the couples, families and individuals who were out gathered and soaking it all in.

If anything could lift a low mood… it’s this ❤️

My desk has been covered in guidebooks and pages of loosestrife and brambles and heather and gorse and bilberry and the most intricate of all, the moths ✨

Life isn’t one big highlights reel, but it’s still lovely to take note of your achievements and reflect on the little things that bring you joy. 🌿 This month the garden and countryside has felt buzzing with new life, and I’m full of new ideas ✨

I need your help - my moth pattern is almost finished but colour options are needed for tea towels etc. which colour would you be drawn to? Or drop a comment if I’m missing it! (Zoomed in slightly to reduce the risk of pesky AI stealing it).

‘Stargazing’ 🌌

The idea behind this piece was sparked from an evening in Wales with my favourite person — completely switched off, just sky and stillness. This is the first piece in a new series I’m calling Woven Words: paintings of those quiet, magic moments where you’re lost in nature and each other. Poetry to follow. 🌿✨
