Little one has really enjoyed exploring his treasure basket outdoors over the summer.
It’s great to watch him discover each item in a different environment, it has enabled him to challenge his own expectation of each piece.

Roleplay is a fun way for kids to learn about themselves, others and their environment; whilst learning important skills that aid their cognitive and physical development.

We’ve started to introduce smaller loose parts into little ones play. He really enjoys sorting the glass stones into the pots.

Loose parts play can be incorporated into your little ones play from a young age, as long as you supervise at ALL times.

Children develop essential skills through loose parts play. Fine motor skills are strengthened while critical thinking and problem-solving skills enhance cognitive development.

There is no right or wrong way to explore loose parts. They are intended to spark creativity and allow children to use their imagination to manipulate and place each item how they wish.

The loose parts theory was developed in the 1971 by Simon Nicholson who believed; “In any environment, both the degree of inventiveness and creativity, and the possibility of discovery, are directly proportional to the number and kind of variables in it.”

Loose parts play sparks a child's creativity and innovation by allowing them to investigate and discover each item freely.

Loose parts are objects that children can control and change within their play. They allow a child’s curiosity to grow, while encouraging their imagination and creativity. Loose parts can enhance play and support open-ended learning with limitless possibilities, and encourage children to discover different ways of manipulating, arranging, and rearranging each object.

Children develop essential skills through loose parts play. Fine motor skills are strengthened while critical thinking and problem-solving skills enhance cognitive development.

Our loose parts packs are recommended for children aged 3 and up due to their contents.

Children should ALWAYS be supervised when exploring these packs.
