Earlier this week, it was exactly this time when we received a 999 call from an 11-year-old boy in Peterborough. 📞

The boy was asking to be transferred through to Microsoft as he had been banned from his x-box account.. 🤔

The call handler assumed that this may have been a cover story, and the boy was trying to communicate that he was actually in danger.

Using simple yes / no questions, and telling the boy to press 55 on the keypad if he was in danger but couldn't talk out loud, the call handler was quickly able to establish that the boy was safe, and was genuinely calling to try and get back into his x-box account. 🤦

The boy was given strong words of advice and told that misuse of the 999 line is a criminal offence. He was also told that he could face a maximum penalty of up to six months in prison or a fine of £5,000 for persistently misusing 999.

These types of calls tie up our resources and divert crews away from real, potentially life-threatening incidents. Please help us keep our phone lines free for genuine emergencies by educating friends, family members, and children about the dangers and risks associated with hoax calling.

Pa******le Iain Fleming, 53, has been jailed after he began communicating with, and sent explicit images of himself, to what he thought was a 14-year-old girl. Fleming did not know it was actually a decoy account run by an online child abuse activist group.

Despite the “girl” telling Fleming she was only 14 several times, he continued sexual communication with her and sent explicit images of himself.

Who are some of the criminals who won't be enjoying the glorious weather this weekend as they finish their first few days and weeks in prison, we hear you ask?.. Well 👇

There's drug dealer, Ahmed Hassan, 26, who was arrested after neighbourhood officers carried out a warrant at a flat in Millfield, Peterborough.

There's Callum Liddle, 38, who has been jailed for more than two years after violently attacking his partner.

There's Donald Chatten, 20, who was arrested after holding a knife to the face of a man in a robbery at a pub.

There's ra**st, Steven Coulson, 32, who attacked a teenage girl and has been jailed for more than nine years.

And there's Michael Richardson, 49, a pa******le who sent sexual messages to an undercover officer, believing he was communicating with a 12-year-old girl.

Officers joined staff from Peterborough City Council this week as part of an operation aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB).

As well as addressing issues such as street drinking and other forms of ASB in the city centre, Operation Horizon involves outreach work with those who are sleeping rough.

Joint patrols with civil enforcement officers took place to engage with members of the public and tackle any issues they encountered.

As part of our ongoing work to tackle anti-social driving, our neighbourhood officers have been putting up posters in the areas identified as a hotspot to warn some motorists about their behaviour.

We will be patrolling these areas when we can, but we also need your reports so we can identify those involved and specific parts of the city it is happening in.

William Thornton, 50, targeted a supermarket in the city centre and a shop in Orton before he was arrested.

Our neighbourhood officers have been out responding to one of their current priorities: tackling anti-social behaviour in open spaces.

The team carried out a mix of both plain clothes and high-visibility patrols in:
📍Gunthorpe
📍Paston
📍Bretton
📍Netherton
📍Ravensthorpe
📍West Town
📍Werrington

During their late shift yesterday, the team:
👮Stopped and educated five people on the laws concerning e-scooters. Unfortunately, an additional five didn’t fancy stopping for a chat and made off on their e-scooters and e-bikes
👮An e-scooter was seized in Paston
👮A teenage boy will be dealt with out of court after he was found in possession of cannabis

You’re sleeping soundly until you hear what sounded like a knock at the door. Next thing you know, you open your eyes and our officers are standing in the room! 😴

This is what happened to a sleepy Ahmed Hassan, who got a rude awakening last year when our neighbourhood officers carried out a warrant at a flat in Millfield.

Hassan has since been jailed after being found with 150 wraps of class A drugs.

A man who violently attacked his partner after becoming enraged over a text message has been jailed.

Callum Liddle, 38, of no fixed abode and of the Peterborough area, pinned the victim down and assaulted her, leaving her struggling to breathe.
