Dahlia tubers can be started now, but make sure this is indoors.

Dahlias are frost-tender and should not be planted outside until all risk of frost has passed during spring where nighttime temperatures don’t dip below 15 degrees Celsius.

Starting your Dahlias indoors allows plants to establish early, resulting in stronger growth and earlier summer blooms.

Stand back from your border in late May. There may be plenty of colour, yet something feels missing. Your early bulbs are already past their best. Taller stems are flopping into gaps. The once bright shades are fading. Most of us plant for the start of spring. Few plant for the middle of spring.

This is the time for Ranunculus Picotee.
