Nothing like a busy week then that storm! Here we have Mr. Jules after a cold shower by candlelight. No power for 24 hours, none apparently until another 24 hours. Interesting times!

A very Happy New Year to one and all. Great night with friends with a lot of laughter 🤭 Slightly fatigued after returning from South Africa, met by the gorgeous Mrs. Wallis and straight out to see in 2026. Also seeing the kids and grandkids for ickle prezzies! .clocks always a laugh too!

Sad to leave my brother and his family. I’ve had such a great time catching up, Christmas, in the African bush doing absolutely nothing and everything.

From coffee to monkeys, to pool, with brother and beer, carnage from baboon’s ransacking the kitchen (who left the door open 😆) to the 7.44pm express strolling past and heading to sunset.

Ellies, hippos, yet more rhino and crocs today. And the afternoon finished off perfectly with brother Jem smashing out pasties from our late mum’s recipe.

What an experience. So lucky to see these when they’re often so elusive. Lots of pics and videos sorry! Worth a peek. Cheetah, lions (and their ‘Eland’ kill if you want to get immersed more) along with zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, jackal, rock monitor lizard, hippos and crocs too but not all in the pics. We were 10’ from those lions!

And boom, just like that I find myself in South Africa for the festive season visiting my brother Jem and his lovely family! Plenty of pics to come people, especially this coming week as going somewhere very special in the bush… can’t wait to see the animals in the wild once more. I was here 20 and 29 years ago. So nice to be back ❤️🚆🫶🏽🎸 🛬
