While humans can't see ultraviolet (UV) light, bees can. Many flowers have hidden UV patterns on their petals that are invisible to us but stand out clearly to bees. These natural "nectar guides" act like landing strips, directing bees straight to the flower's nectar and pollen.

As forage becomes scarce, colonies can quickly burn through their stores. Keep an eye on food reserves and feed if necessary to maintain colony strength and brood production. Feeds like Apimix75 or the protein derived Apipasta Plus are ideal.

🌼 Help bridge the gap by planting bee-friendly forage such as lavender, borage, clover, catmint, and phacelia.

🛡️ Be alert for robbing behaviour during nectar shortages—avoid leaving honey, syrup, or exposed comb near the apiary and consider reducing entrances on smaller colonies.

A little extra care now can make a big difference until the summer nectar flow arrives.
