We're only half way through the month but June has already been a busy one for the Rig Systems team, including plenty of on-site Confined Space Entry training delivered across a range of locations.

It’s great to be out supporting our clients and helping teams develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to work safely and confidently in confined spaces.

It was a pleasure to welcome the Mylor Chandlery and Rigging team to Rig Systems last week, for their Yacht Rigging training.

The team showed great enthusiasm throughout both the classroom and practical elements of the course, developing their skills at our Meldon Quarry training facility and applying techniques in a live marina environment at Mylor Yacht Harbour.

We look forward to seeing those new skills put into practice!

📢SAFETY AND INSPECTION NOTICE FOR THE CMC CAPTO📢

CMC is issuing a Safety and Inspection Notice for the CAPTO. This potentially affects CAPTO 11 MM Gray (Part # 336011) and CAPTO 13 MM Red (Part # 336013) models from serial number 23191-001 to 26085-034.

CMC is issuing a Product Safety & Inspection for the CAPTO™.

Through our internal inspection processes, CMC has found certain instances where the thread locker that secures the CAPTO cam set screw may not have fully cured. This potentially affects CAPTO 11 MM Gray (Part # 336011) and CAPTO 13 MM Red (Part # 336013) models from serial number 23191-001 through 26085-034. If the set screw becomes fully unthreaded, the cam spring may fall out, causing the cam to not function as intended. There have been no reports of any set screws coming loose in the field, but out of an abundance of caution we request that customers inspect for the presence and position of the set screw to ensure that it is installed properly. We have corrected this issue for current and future CAPTO production.

The same thread locker is also used as a secondary method to secure the pulley fl**ge. While we do not expect any issues, CMC still advises that customers also inspect the pulley fl**ge while inspecting the set screw position.

If you have a CAPTO, please immediately inspect your device using the inspection steps included in the Inspection & Safety Notice.

Another successful CONSAR (Confined Space Access & Rescue) Refresher course last week at our Meldon Quarry training centre👏

This course focused on reinforcing the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely operate in both basic and complex confined spaces, while also managing the risks associated with working at height.

Two days of hands-on learning and real-world scenario training—keeping safety standards high and skills sharp. Well done to all involved!
