Weigh To Go Refill

Hello refill lovers and villagers,

After many, many weeks of hard decision making it saddens me announce that Weigh To Go Refill shop in Ogmore will be closing.
Unfortunately the shop just doesn't generate enough business for me to keep the shelfs stocked with products for you to buy.
For the last 4 months I have been working full time elsewhere and the shop has been run by an amazing team of volunteers but the lack of business still means that the shop can't survive.
I put an advert out for more volunteers and had a wonderful response, so thank you all that offered to try to help keep this package free shop running for the community to use. Even with a bigger team of volunteers that fact of not having enough custom means it wouldn't change the shops fait.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you that have supported the shop and embraced this way of shopping.
After picking up single use packaging everyday on dog walks and regularly surfing surrounded by it, I am more certain than ever that this is the future of shopping and hope our Government makes legislation soon to change the way we package our food.
The shop will remain open to run the current stocks down but I will not be placing any further orders for new stock from this point forward.
For those of you who became members, I will be sending an email regarding memberships and some others bits.
I have stocked the shelfs today as much as I can and will continue to do so until we run them down. Keep an eye out here for actual closing dates.

The shop will be open from 12pm not 11am tomorrow.

People constantly tell me that you can not have a multi national, profitable business that isn’t driven by money hungry shareholders, that ensures every step of the process is well examined, makes business decisions driven by a strong moral compass, not solely driven by profits, after looking after their own employees uses their profits to drive positive change within its community and world wide!

Well, you are wrong!!!

There are ways for big business to operate, make money, offer employment and help to drive industry but do it with a greater respect and understanding our planet and the damage we are doing to it.

Governments, industries take note. It can work and and .chouinard are living proof. Thank you for showing us what can be achieved 🙏🏼

Hello,

It saddens me to say but due to lack of customer interest during the week days, we will be reducing our opening hours from 5 days to 2 days as of this week.
We will stay open on Fridays and Saturdays, allowing you to continue shopping package free.
We hope to see you soon

😎THE OGS are OUT!😎

The Ogs Of Ogmore by sea have heard some really exciting news and it fills them with JOY🥰

Single use plastic Is out of fashion! WHOOP WHOOP!!

Last night two of the original Ogs went under cover and hid in a local residents shopping bag when they visited Owain at the Weigh to Go Refill Shop. Once inside the Shop they discretely hopped out and hid under a shelf until Owain left for the night. However they were caught on camera posing. OGS can't resist posing for a photo🤣

These are two of the oldest Ogs: Eleanor and Tom. They were sent by the rest of the Ogs to discover if the news was true- Is single use plastic out of fashion?

What Eleanor and Tom found was very very exciting. An entire Shop committed to plastic free shopping. Washing up materials, cleaning and beauty products, foods, treats and snacks all available plastic free.

"The Ogs will be delighted" thought Tom as he helped Eleanor fill up an empty bottle with environmentally friendly washing liquid.

The Ogs are always cleaning up the beach and collecting bits and bobs that could be repurposed and recycled and always removing single use plastic from the shoreline.

"When I look at this shop I can see we can make a difference with every piece of plastic we reuse, repurpose or avoid " said Eleanor 🥰

"How clever these Funny Folk are" said Tom. "I hope they are proud of themselves. Changes like these are not easy. It's hard to change habits but look Owain has even put clean jars and Brown paper bags our for us all to use"
