Anchor and Steam - Oban

Today, we’ve taken Anchor & Steam on the road.

The Oban shop is closed for the day while The Coastal Pour is at Appin Agricultural Show.

We’ve brought the coffee, a little bit of the shop and, importantly, a fairly serious amount of cake.

TODAY’S CAKE SITUATION:

Basically, we’ve packed half the shop into a trailer again.

We learned something at Bunessan Show yesterday…

Coffee trailers don’t float across muddy fields. 🫠

So today at the Mid-Argyll Show, we’ve come prepared!

Coffee. Matcha. Iced drinks.
And yes, that is a tractor in the background. 🚜

Currently promoted from emergency recovery vehicle to equipment delivery service.

Hopefully it stays that way.

Meanwhile, the Oban shop is open until 5pm - firmly planted on solid ground.

We thought we’d share something a little different today.

Every completed loyalty card we’ve ever collected is still here.

We could throw them away, but we never have.

(The really old ones are just covered in smiley faces and signatures… before we finally upgraded and bought an actual stamp. 😅)

Each one represents someone choosing to come back—whether that’s every morning on the way to work, every Saturday, or once every few months when you’re visiting Oban.

To us, every single one means the same thing: you’ve chosen to support a small, independent business, and we never take that for granted.

We haven’t always had the easiest ride. There have been long days, difficult seasons and moments where we’ve questioned everything. But because you kept coming back, we’re still here—and we’re slowly building something we’re incredibly proud of.

So, thank you.
