Introducing our show garden for the 2026 Rutland Flower Show!
Built by our team in just three days, this courtyard garden transforms a compact space into a multifunctional retreat for relaxing, entertaining, and productive growing.
Ornamental and edible planting are seamlessly combined, allowing fresh produce to be harvested and enjoyed in the adjoining outdoor kitchen, strengthening the connection between gardening, cooking, and outdoor living.
Designed by our Head of Horticulture and lead Plant Concierge, the soft, naturalistic planting scheme creates a lush, immersive atmosphere, with Himalayan Birch providing light structure, seasonal interest, and privacy. Layered ornamental perennials, grasses, shrubs, evergreens, and edible crops deliver year-round texture, colour, biodiversity, and pollinator value.
The layout centres on an open social space, with a pergola-covered dining area forming the gardenās focal point. A water feature adds movement and supports wildlife, while productive beds and the outdoor kitchen are subtly screened within the planting. A timber arch draped in evergreen jasmine creates an inviting entrance, and raised sleeper beds with crushed aggregate paths reinforce the gardenās natural character.
By combining naturalistic planting, sustainable food production, and thoughtfully designed social spaces, the garden demonstrates how a compact courtyard can become a beautiful, functional, and biodiverse outdoor sanctuary.
Come visit us at the Rutland Flower Show today or Sunday to see our show garden in person!
