** Grafham Low Water Levels **

Due to the water continuing to fall at Grafham we have installed a new section of pontoon stretching beyond the boom at the Fishing Lodge harbour. Our boat fleet is limited due to the reduced mooring space and we advise those with limited mobility to consider one of our other waters due to the access at Grafham.

The wind speed limit at Grafham is now also reduced to ensure anglers are kept safe when using the new pontoon.

If you have any questions about the access arrangement at Grafham please do not hesitate to contact us. We are doing everything we can to make arrangements as convenient and safe for anglers and staff as possible.

Last week at Grafham, Marc Cutworth had a boat session to remember. Fishing lure patterns deep on a b***y basher, Mark landed 8 fish, with this, a colossal, deep fish going over 11lbs. After a quick photo and a rest the fish swam off strongly. Well done Marc!

Another couple of Grafham Summer crackers for season ticket holder Simon Ashton, caught from recent boat sessions. It just goes to show, as long as you are willing to adapt to the conditions, there is still tremendous sport to be had!

Please note, due to the falling water levels, Grafham's fleet has been reduced, so book early to avoid dissapointment.

*** Important Low Water Information ***

Bank Fishing

With low water levels continuing to affect all our waters, we would like to remind anglers to take extra care when bank fishing. We are seeing areas of very soft, sticky mud around the banks, which may present a hazard.

Please ensure you test the ground in front of you before wading into the water. We recommend you wear a PFD when bank fishing (including wading)

If you are unsure about the safety of an area, please avoid wading and choose an alternative fishing spot.

Safety signage has been installed in particularly hazardous areas, including inlets, and we ask all anglers to observe this guidance.

Boat Fishing

Low water levels are having a significant impact on boat fishing at Grafham Water, and as a result the available boat fleet has been reduced.

Match organisers and customers with affected bookings are being contacted directly, and alternative venues are being offered.

Access to boats remains via the Grafham Fishing Lodge pontoon. Should this change, we will contact affected customers directly.

For your safety, we do not recommend that anglers with accessibility or mobility issues book boats at Grafham at this time. Instead, we encourage the use of our other fisheries until water levels and in turn access improves.

*Grafham Rudder match*

This coming Saturday is our Grafham water rudder match. With some nice fish holding deep in the basin it will be interesting to see comes out! To participate, book online:

Fish with your partner on an 8 fish limit each (16 to the boat) in an attempt to bring the biggest weight to the scales. Entrants pay £5 in cash per person to the lodge as pools which goes into the prize pot, this is then distributed amongst the winners as prize money.

Update to fishery rules

On 1st September 2026 our updated fishery rules will come into effect. There are some significant changes in particular around the use of personal floatation devices so we would urge anglers to read the rules carefully. Our fishery teams are more than happy to answer any questions and queries regarding the rules.

*Draycote stocking*

Yesterday we stocked 3000 Rainbows into Draycote water 🐟

Draycote is fishing to a very healthy rod average of 7 🎣

*Low water at Pitsford*

With the low water levels and recent rain we are seeing areas of very soft sticky mud. Bank anglers are advised to wade with caution.

Please ensure you test the ground in front of you before wading out.

If in doubt please don't wade and fish an alternative spot.

In addition, due to the hot, still weather we have seen a blue green algae bloom in some areas of the reservoir. To keep safe if you come into contact with the water please wash your hands especially before eating or drinking
