As promised, my first post in a long while. Quite a special guitar from Jon Howard lead guitarist with The Deadbeats. 60 year old Epiphone Coronet ready for a refret. Quite an unusual neck from the Gibson stable with a fretboard radius of 10” and it’s thought that’s where Paul Reed Smith got his inspiration from. #

That’s well over 200 guitars and violins (yes, violins) worked on since my last post. Pretty busy with a wide variety of jobs from setups, rewiring, remodelling, refinishing and numerous refrets etc. etc.
Issues with spam and trolling on this page seem to have eased off and I’ll start posting my work again. First up will be a refret on quite a special guitar, so watch this space🎸🎸🎸

Just been checking out Free-Way switches, some great switching possibilities. Ten way Strat switching offering up some amazing possibilities, six way Tele switches, even six way toggle switches offering coil splits, parallel/series/phasing switching on humbuckers, possibilities are endless. All in packages that look identical to standard switches, quality UK made items.

As you may have noticed, I’ve not posted any guitar work for the last few months. The amount of spam and trolling I’d been getting from my posts got to unbelievable levels.
Rest assured, I’ve still been working but not posting. Things seem to have calmed down, might start to show some of the work undertaken recently, see how it goes.
DM me from the page for any enquiries, phone number rejects unknown callers but I’ll still monitor any SMS messages sent to that number.
Cheers everyone and sorry for the inconvenience,
Dave

Dave’s new Epiphone Les Paul Special in need of some work out of the box. It was choking out on bends with rattle the full length of the fret board. He would have sent it back but he loved the way it sounds and the look.
Ended up needing a full fret level with numerous low frets showing up. Although a tusq nut, it also needed fettling.
This was also a chance to try out the Crimson Guitars fret polishing system.
Found that after levelling and crowning, the corse powder was too fine to remove file marks, however, after sanding out the file marks the system worked really well, ending up with mirror polished frets without too much hard work.
