This build was almost the prototype for the fretless we ended up building for Ariel Posen. On the more standard side of things, this guitar is equipped with McNelly 46/58 pickups for that classic JM style tone.
On the not so standard side, we tested out a rubber bridge and tuned it to a baritone tuning (B Standard).
This is a guitar you can easily find yourself losing hours while you sit and play it and has a unique that can inspire countless new songs.

Felt cute, might delete later.

I will post more about this new model soon. But, as it’ll be at tomorrow I figured it’d be good for everyone that isn’t going to be there to see it.

This is the new Molyneaux Guitars model, the Siskin. Smaller body, shorter scale length, different headstock. All the fun!

Again, all the nerdy stuff I’ll talk about soon. But for now, I hope you like!

There’s no hiding what inspired the Myna. Even the name is a tip of the hat with the Myna bird being a bird that can mimic other sounds.

With this build we wanted to keep a familiar set up tone wise, but with a new modern colour. One that always catches the eyes of people that see it.

The first custom ordered Magpie build and a true rock machine. Fitted with Bareknuckle Old Guard low output humbucker pickups, you instantly get that perfect rock sound you've heard for years.
This build had the Duesenberg Diamond Deluxe vibrato installed and is a great alternative if you aren't too keen on the classic JM style kit.

I’ve been doing some work on the website recently and added a “previous builds” section. It’s made me look back at how it all started and what I’ve improved on as a guitar maker. So let me indulge for a while and show you the a little guitar timeline of the Molyneaux Guitars builds.

First off, where it all began. The first Magpie. Somewhat a prototype, but still one that I’m super proud of.
It was built to be a “do it all” single coil guitar. Loaded with two McNelly Stagger Swaggers and a Duckling in the middle position. It really does cover a lot of bases tone wise thanks to the six way Freeway switch. From classic P90 rock tones, nice clean Jazzmaster type sounds and the two and four position Strat style sounds.

Okay, so seeing as people seemed to like the little tease of a new model yesterday… how about another one today?

Another one?!

Yes. Although I’ve been fairly quiet on here, I’ve been busy working on a couple of new models alongside customer orders. This one has been a real head-scratcher that I’ve had to step away from from time to time.

Now I’m in the home stretch though, I think the 3am wake-ups with an idea of how to solve something, or the vacant stare mid-conversation when something else has suddenly clicked in my mind (granted, the vacant look isn’t always down to this guitar. That’s just my face!) have all been worth it.

This build is very much a prototype and there are still a few bits I want to refine before it’s properly available to order. But seeing it this close to being finished almost makes me think I actually know what I’m doing.

With String Break happening next weekend, I had to do a dry fit on this new build to keep my head in the game and get me excited for how it’ll look when it’s all done. Still a bit of work to do and the other new model is coming along nicely. But I think it’ll be a beaut when it’s all done.

The new model is coming along very nicely. I can’t wait to show the full thing when it’s all put together.
You can even give it a first try at String Break if you managed to snag a ticket.
Until then, I hope you enjoy the back in its full, sunny glory as much as I do.
