NATIONAL DOG DAY 2026

BAILEY SAYS: “Every day is special when we have a canine friend to share it with. Today is an added opportunity to think about the importance of dogs in our lives. They are loyal friends, companions and part of the family. They enrich our lives”.

At Thorpe Plant Centre Norwich we are blessed to have Bailey, Stanley and Charlie in our family.

They make us laugh.
They make us happy.
They make us feel loved.
They make us feel protected.
They make us exhausted.
They give us energy.
They make us feel better.
They cost us a fortune.
They pay us back ten-fold.
They calm our anxieties.
They make us cry sometimes.

Today is a good opportunity to think of those dogs that are less fortunate than ours. Those that have been abandoned, neglected and treated cruelly. Give your dog an extra cuddle and treat today…….but also think about other things you can do. Donations to dog charities, volunteering to help or maybe re-homing a dog.

TURF

Because of the long hot dry Summer, the drought conditions and then the hosepipe ban……Thorpe Plant Centre Norwich suspended sales of fresh turf for about six weeks or so.

Now that the temperatures seem more normal and cooler…..and we have had some precious rain, with more forecast for this week…….we are considering whether or not to get a pallet of turf in this coming Friday.

Lots of customers have been telling us that their existing lawns and grass verges are looking in a sorry state and they need to do some repair and replacement when conditions are suitable.

If we get enough pre-orders from customers in the next couple of days, we will go for it and get the ball rolling.
