Euphorbia horrida snowflake ❄️ 💚
Euphorbia horrida is a spiny succulent shrub with irregular basally clumping stems. In age it will forms tight clumps of upright columns up to a metre wide that closely resemble some cactus species. It also has clustered crowns of somewhat ferocious spines much like the true cacti. This plant is somewhat variable with many varieties and forms, and perhaps natural hybrids between it and taller Euphorbias. One great example is the Snowflake.

Astrophytum digitostigma 🧐
Astrophytum caput-medusae is a rare succulente belonging to the Cactaceae botanical family. The cactus is solitary and the stem is very reduced. The stem is composed of thin cylindrical stem covered with white dots. At the base of the stem there are papyraceous bristles brownish in color. The terminal areoles are circular, white and spiniferous, the others are floriferous. The spines are rigid, whitish and darker at the apex. Blooming occurs in autumn and blossom are borne along the stem. The flowers are large, diurnal, yellow, with the base of the inner perianth segments orange coloured. The fruits are green and fleshy and bear big, cup-like, black seeds.

Tiny but incredibly rare to come by, this is the last one we have in stock and it's available now on our website.
Larryleachia cactiformis best known in cultivation as Trichocaulon cactiforme, is a small perennial stem succulent with a globular body tessellate with roughly pentangular, flat or depressed tubercles. This species is quite variable particularly in the colour of flowers.
It can be found on quartz flats, slopes and hills to gneiss domes on the Kamiesberg in the eastern edge of the winter rainfall region in Fynbos, Succulent Karoo. They are highly succulent and adapted to very harsh and bright habitats. Larryleachia is a very fine example of convergent evolution, very easy to mistake for a cactus. However the very similar development of very similar characters in plants evolving in similar conditions although separated by very great distances or otherwise impossible contact. It is widespread, common and not threatened.

Copiapoa lembckei / Copiapoa calderana 💚💚

This slow growing cactus is kept for the beauty of its form. It must be protected from excessive heat and sun in summer, and seems to do best in cultivation with a bit of shade. It requires light but regular waterings in summer, but let the soil mix dry between waterings, Prone to rot if over-watered. Needs good drainage. Keep warm and dry in winter (10°C) to avoid rot. Not highly tolerant of a great deal of frost.

Notocactus uebelmmannius inermis / Parodia werneri f. inermis is the nice spineless form of Parodia werneri / Notocactus uebelmannius. The spines are present but extremely reduced only about 1 mm long and completely disappear in the wool of areoles, all the other characteristics namely size and shape of stems, flowers, fruits, roots etc. clearly show that they are conspecific.
Quite a sought after plant and we are very happy to have a few in stock.
