Supat Gali produces some of the finest peridot in the world, with an almost electric green colour and beautifully sharp natural crystals. It is the material that made me stop seeing peridot as the poor relation to emerald.

As a seller of minerals and a particular connoisseur of fluorite, for me personally, and of course this is subjective, nothing beats Namibian fluorite from the Okorusu Mine. If you’re in Oxford, feel free to pop down!

Just finished sorting through all this Dumortierite in Quartz 💙

I’ve split it into Grade A, B and C, depending on the colour, clarity and how much dumortierite is showing. Loads of individual pieces now available, from the really deep blue ones to the softer, cloudier crystals.

I’ve spent far too long trying to film these properly because unheated tanzanite really does not make life easy 😂

Tanzanite is already rare because it only comes from one very small area of northern Tanzania. Finding proper mineral specimens is harder again, and finding them still showing their natural, unheated colour is more unusual than most people realise.

All five are from Merelani Hills, but they behave completely differently in the light. There’s violet, lilac, pink, yellow, champagne, bronze, plum and even burgundy depending on the crystal and the angle.

Heating usually reduces the warmer yellow and brown tones, leaving blue and violet much more dominant, so this is a side of tanzanite most people never really get to see.

All five are available, but honestly I mainly wanted to show just how different natural tanzanite can look from one crystal to the next.
