The Glorious Twelfth is here🌄

So much of a day on the hill happens long before anyone lifts a gun: the keepers who've read the moor all year 🌿, the beaters and flankers working the line 🚩, the dogs steady and waiting 🐾.

And this year, there's more to celebrate. After a couple of hard seasons, the brood counts are back up— a truly wild bird that can't be reared or released, so a good year is one well earned. 🥇

To everyone out on the hill today have a cracking day. Here's to the season.

A full-time, permanent role has opened with our ArdMoor team based in Kingston, just outside North Berwick.

You'll be the first point of contact for our customers — the friendly voice on the phone and the reply in the inbox — making sure every order runs smoothly and everyone who shops with us wants to come back.

What you'll be doing:
📞 Handling customer calls, emails and telephone orders
📦 Processing returns, exchanges and click & collects
🤝 Working with our warehouse and suppliers to keep orders on track
✍️ Lending a hand with product copy during quieter spells

What we're looking for:
✅ A warm, confident telephone manner
✅ A problem-solving, can-do attitude
✅ Sharp attention to detail and a natural team player
✅ An interest in shooting, farming or the outdoors is a bonus

Massive congratulations 🥂 a fantastic achievement 🎉

Scottish Champion & Overall Sporting Champion 2026.
Can’t quite believe I’m writing those words but, here we are. An incredible day at Finnie Clay events in Aberdeenshire for the championship scoring a steady 91 around the course which saw me tied for the lead with three incredible shots; Colin Will, Garry Meikle and Scott Donachie. It was a privilege to be in a shoot off with such outstanding talent but to come away as the overall champion is a dream come true.

Jim, Fraser and the rest of the Finnie team put on an event today that was comparable to the big events down south. It was simply flawless and beautifully presented.

This win is dedicated to my family, friends and sponsors who have been so tireless in their support, and to my late friend Dougie, with whom I had a quiet chat with this morning on the way up requesting a wee bit of luck if he was able to throw it my way.

Harvest is in full swing across the country — long days, late nights, and dust in places you didn't know you had. The forecast finally played ball, and now it's flat out until the last field's cut.

☕ Meals eaten in the cab, if at all

Clay grounds up and down the country are busy right now — everyone quietly getting their eye in before the season starts.

Sporting, S***t or DTL, there's no better way to sharpen up before August than a few rounds at your local ground.

There's no better excuse for a round than "pre-season practice".

📣We're looking for a Product Manager to join our team in North Berwick.

This is a hands-on role taking ownership of specific product lines and supplier relationships, working across the full product lifecycle from sourcing and onboarding through to catalogue, pricing and performance analysis.

This will suit a recent graduate or someone with equivalent early-career experience: organised, analytical, comfortable with detailed product data — and genuinely at home in the countryside. 🥾

✅ Kit checked, repaired or replaced — don't find the leak on the moor
✅ Cartridges ordered before the last-minute rush
✅ Hill fitness underway — those grouse butts don't walk to you
✅ Dog steady (or at least steadier than last season)
