We recently met with Derek Wright, current President of Newtownards Chamber of Trade and founder of The Precinct — a thriving development now home to 14 local businesses employing over 100 people.

From Bow Bells Coffee House & Bakery and Street Life to Suit Locker, Brew & Yaki and a range of beauty, hair and fitness businesses, The Precinct is a real hub of independent enterprise in the heart of Ards.

Derek’s passion for Newtownards is clear. Most recently, he arranged for a stunning mural by artist Jossiepops celebrating local hero and Olympic gold medallist Rhys McClenaghan , who has been awarded the Freedom of the Borough.
