'This, my 5th book, charts growing up in the 50's, 60's and 70's. This was a time when we didn't have the internet, computers, mobile phones, fast food, electric bikes and scooters. Not all of us had a TV, expensive toys, a car or foreign holidays and even central heating, so what on earth did we do to keep occupied and perhaps out of mischief? Living in a small rural community within Gloucestershire, we made our own fun - sometimes risking retribution from our long-suffering parents, and then the words from the title would be heard - over and over again!
Filled with a multitude of amusing and historical stories, anecdotes and photos from others who had their childhood pretty much at the same time as well as my own recollections. My hope is of being able to conjure up a picture of what growing up in the area, and even further afield, was all about - in bygone days. Although the main part of my own childhood was in the Stroud area the stories will ring true wherever you are in the country. This is an 80-page glossy A4 book professionally printed locally with over 70 photos.'
