This upcycled lamp started life in 1952 as a 700ml
Automobile oil pourer. An oil can.

To put its 74 years of history into perspective, this piece is older than Disneyland, older than the modern McDonald’s franchise, and was around before the invention of the classic LEGO brick and the modern car seatbelt. It would go on to pour life juice into the iconic Ford Mustang.
A true survivor of mid-century utility, turned into a modern statement piece.

Chrome Luminosity is a rugged, rich and warm lamp borne of an air filter from a classic car.

With a beautiful large globe bulb showing a subtle burgundy tint, and chrome finishing on top and bottom, this gorgeous lighting piece glows even when switched off.

An internal G9 bulb lights the inside to add to the warmth, and two cogs from bicycles help lend to the industrial theme.

The lamp is 13” (33cm) tall and 7” (17cm) round

Chrome Luminosity is the latest creation for Distorted Light.
Originally a classic car air filter, coupled with an old spool for 3d printing filament, a couple of used bike chainrings and using a gorgeous large orb bulb to compliment the whole build. Burgundy braided flex and the look is complete.

Borne out off a visit to Paulies garage ltd in Ringwood for a Car & Coffee meet, I saw the air filter in their shop and promised to return it for sale to that shop.
