Spiral Bushing time🌀Take a maple shaving and glue it into the peg hole. It reduces the diameter of the hole and reinforces the peg hole walls. I then re shaped the original peg to fit the peg hole. Also re-touched the area around the holes to make it an ‘invisible’ repair. 🎻

Had an odd request to remove the abalone shell from this bow and replace it with ebony. So, Paris eye and slide now done. The outer circumference of the eye is metal/nickel so gives a nice effect on the side of the frog. 🐸

🎻🌟🌟 Cello Bow with@a broken end pin had me stumped for a day… then cut the ribbon solved the extraction conundrum 🤷‍♂️😊🌟🌟New pin and re-hair.

Back to it after taking August off, … a quick@couple of bow re-hairs to ease me back into the swing of things. A bow te-hair can make a load of difference to your playing!! 🎻🌟❤️

Last job before the Christmas break. Sheered neck glued back with 3 x 90mm dowels. I forgot to take an all finished and set up photo 🥹🤪.

Just a little bit of work needed on this ole French violin that’s returned from a life in Canada. Soundpost Patch. New Bassbar. New Top and Bottom Blocks. Crack repairs and a Neck reset for starters. Can’t wait to see how it will sound now!

Crack and patch repairs ongoing. Next up is new end blocks and bassbar. The violin came across from Canada a lot of the old repairs came apart as well as the neck coming out and some bouts opening up.

Back from my trip to Ireland and straight back into work. A quick rehair and now to glue a violin back together and do some soundpost shunting to find optimum sound.
