Countdown to is ON! 🗓️ We're proud to support Perthshire-based author Kristie de Garis at the festival next month.

Our team has read and enjoyed her powerful memoir, DRYSTONE, and we’re deeply moved by her story. It traces a heck of a journey from an urban upbringing impacted by racism and instability, to finding a bit more peace and a lot more self-understanding, alongside a love for the craft of drystone walling. 🏔️✨

Click through to read what we thought of this refreshingly honest, highly recommended book!

🎁 BOOKSHOP EXCLUSIVE: Want to read it before the event? Bring your festival ticket for Kristie’s author talk to our counter, and we’ll give you £2 OFF your copy of Drystone!

Starbuck and I are on a roll!!!

She's LOVING Animal Spiral, with its meditations on human evolution over time, and ways in which we might respond as a species and a planet to AI and more... and the differences between communal and individual conceptions of humans.... plus, the Cat Magician!!!

We're both loving the WARRIORS graphic novels. Beautifully drawn, and great kitty tales! 🐱

BLUFF is now out in paperback, and highly recommended Scottish drama/thriller... JD Kirk's latest DCI Logan outing is as fun as it is well written abd develops many of its central characters ever more fully... LIFE & DEATH & GIANTS is a great read especially for those intrigued by the Amish and the role of sports in US culture(!). and THE PALM HOUSE's jumpy but readable prose style landed it on the Booker Prize longlist...

Check out some our favourite current reads - there's quite a range...

Sammy has been itching to get her hands on ✨Theodora's Tea Shop, just as Stephen's elated that Beginning Middle End is finally here... and who wouldn't re-read Wuthering Heights with the BEAUTIFUL hand-painted cover edition out recently? 😍😍

Linda was ahead of the Book Prize longlisters with her enjoyment of Strout's most recent 😘 and I thoroughly enjoyed this new Uist-set crime novel, LOVED Animal Spiral (bonkers, brilliant speculative fiction with added cats 🐆), am finally getting started on BRODIE (a book group hit), and can thoroughly recommend Exit Party due out next month 💯⭐
