Me and my family have had some devastating news. After my dad was given the all clear from bladder cancer in December 2023. He became unwell from January 2024 and the Dr's thought it was because of the chemo treatments to ensure he stayed cancer free.
In February my dad 'Terry' was admitted to hospital and was told that his cancer has returned. A large aggressive mass in his bladder caused his Kidneys to not function properly because the tumour caused a blockage to the kidney.
He had to have his kidneys drained and is now permanently having the tubes from his back draining them. He is too unwell for surgery and we have been advised that palliative care will be the more suitable option.
In the space of 3 months it is just unbelievable what my dad has gone through and how quickly things have developed. We are still waiting for more news about possible progression of the cancer and other infections. (Update below)
So I decided to run my 2nd Great North Run 2024 for my Dad. And for the Charity Action Bladder UK to help aid and support other people and families that are going through similar news.
If you would like to help me raise funds for this amazing charity in aid of my dad, if you know my Dad, Terry or me then please donate on this page or via my sponsorship forms and please SHARE.
(Update: We have been told the cancer has spread to other areas and is quite aggressive and to expect only up to 6 months) We are all heartbroken to hear this news. Please please please help support ABC UK and help donate in aid of my dad, Terry.
Thankyou
