Forres library provides many services for the town. New customers are often surprised by how busy we are and that we have a mobile app! We are so much more than ‘just’ a book lending service, if this is news to you then pop in to find out more and like the page Forres Area Libraries - Forres and Burghead. 😊

I had a wonderful surprise when I went in to work this morning. My lovely colleagues at the library have given me a donation, out of their own pockets, for this summer’s Look for a Book, Forres 😃❤️📚 This will provide at least 60 books, bringing us to a total of 125 books to be hidden during the remainder of the summer holidays. Keep an eye on the group page for clues as to where the books have been hidden. 👀 🔍

Don’t forget to pop into the library for many more free activities … there is still time to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, there’s also competitions, a picture treasure hunt (within the library), drop in Lego sessions, craft sessions, digi club, story-telling and more, so check out Forres Area Libraries - Forres and Burghead for more info, or just comment below or come in and see us, we’re always happy to see you and tell you about what’s on. ❤️📚

Hello 👋 MR MOTO have kindly sponsored 50 books, so Look for a Book, Forres is back for the summer holidays. 📚 ❤️ 👀 😃
As I’ve been doing these book hunts for over 3 years I don’t like to keep asking the local businesses for sponsorship. I know they get approached by so many charities & good causes and they can’t possibly support them all. So this summer I’m looking to fund the project in a different way …
I’ll be at Forres Highland Games tomorrow, with a prize draw where you can win a money can’t buy ‘That’s not my dinosaur’ 🦕 bag and a £15 book voucher. Find the lucky ducky, 50p per square, and all proceeds will be used for more books to hide. 🤩
Of course, if you know a business or individual who’d like to give a donation / sponsorship then please ask them to contact me. ☺️

D I S C O U N T and a game. 😃
Yesterday my page gained 2 new followers, taking the total to 301. It’s been sitting at around 296 for a very long time, so to say thank you all for your support you can claim 20% O F F any items I have in stock, until the end of the Easter holidays.

Game rules:
❓You can ask any question but I will only answer with a yes or no.
🙋‍♀️ A guess at the title equals counts as a question
💬 Once 20 questions have been asked the first person to type the correct title will win the book.

On Thursday, last week, I was just finishing a wonderful 2 day book fair at a primary school, when I saw several notifications on my phone. It was the lovely ladies from my Usborne team telling me I was a 250 club winner!! 🤩 It was the perfect ending to my book fair, I was so chuffed!! 😃

So, what is the 250 club? I hear you ask …

It’s a new Usborne treat for partners, that started in January this year. Every partner who orders £250 or more goes into a draw every month. 5 partners, each month, get a very special reward of very limited, highly sought after Usborne merch that is not available to buy!! 😍

This morning I was feeling rather grotty, after a poor nights sleep, then there was a knock at the door and there was my parcel … with all this Usborne sunshine to brighten my day! ☀️

I don’t know which item I love the most … what do you think? The very cute bag from the award winning ‘That’s not my … series’, the proof copy of one the latest YA titles, the adorable little Usborne duck, the bright and cheerful Usborne lanyard, or the equally sunshiny branded notebook & matching pen … ever since I was a little girl I have loved and collected books, stationery and special bookmarks … and what girl doesn’t love chocolate? ❤️📚📒 🖊️🔖🍫

You can still earn even more books with sales at parents’ evening on Thursday and by placing any orders with me by 9pm on Sunday … how high can you go?! 📚

As the stock has gone down so much during this evening I’ll be posting photos of everything, taken at the start of the event. So if the book or books your child had on their wishlist have already sold just contact me to order them in, they’ll be here by the 29th Mar, at the latest, in time for the Easter holidays. 😊 🐣

⭐️World Book Day Competition Winner⭐️

I ❤️ that every entry, except one, overestimated the height of this book tower. 📏 Why does that please me?
🧱⛰️📚💭 Because books make so many things larger than life, they are building blocks of education and imagination, they contain mountains of information, they grow your vocabulary and your mind. You can reach new heights through reading! ❤️

Yep, I’ve got carried away 😃 but I make no apology for it, I love what reading can provide children and adults alike.

So … the winner? Thankfully I was very precise with my measuring because there was only 1cm to decide between the 2 closest answers. 😮

🥁 Drum roll please! 🥁

The height was 105.5cm / 3ft 5.5”

The 2 closest answers were
85cm which is 20.5 cm under

and

4ft 1 = 125 cm which is 19.5cm over … which makes Kristin Rietsch the winner!! 🥇 Kristin, if you’d like to message me you can choose £15 of books (from my stock or to be ordered from my website). Congratulations! 🎉

A lovely friend of mine has given a very generous donation to support the mental health of our young people. As a result of her kindness 3 schools will receive some free books. 💚

Thanks to Abiy & 3 local businesses I’ll be giving 10 schools a bundle of mental health books. I’ll share photos once the bundles are made up for delivery.
