WHAT'S YOUR SUPER POWER?
I'm celebrating Random Acts of Kindness day today by supporting another small business and sending a friend a little something in the post. It doesn't have to be gifts, it could be a gesture, a phone call, a letter.....simply something to make someone else feel good.
Kindness is always a good idea.

(Though if you do want to send someone something in the post 'Just Because'.....I'd be more than happy to help by sending them a gift box!)

I'M BACK....
I am more sleep deprived, running on Lost Barn Coffee for a very much needed caffeine hit and I'm finding even the smallest acts of kindness emotional (I blame the sleep deprivation!) but I am back.
I have had the pleasure of welcoming my second baby in to the world recently and I am constantly reminded that the small gestures mean so much and so here are a few words that I'm carrying with me....to get me through the new born fog.
'Choose kindness and laugh often'

BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS (and cake!)

I love it when you can loose yourself in a world of books and end your visit with delicious cake.
Visiting my parents for a few days I just had to come to the Astley Book Farm which is a short drive away and is a converted barn and an endless treasure trove of pre loved books with a fantastic cafe on site too.

If my husband asks, yes all the books I bought are stock for the gift boxes 😉

Not only can I pay kindness forward, I can pay good recommendations forward too. This is a great place to visit for anyone who loves books and/or cake!

I can not believe it, I’m absolutely ecstatic that Random Book of Kindness is featured in the July/Aug edition of Cheshire Life Magazine.
When they say it is full of ‘things to do, things to make you smile, things to make you think and things to make you proud’….well I am definitely smiling and proud that’s for sure. Being featured alongside other amazing businesses has blown me away.

Thank you to those involved in the contents of my gift boxes, let’s keep spreading those little bits of unexpected kindness Lost Barn Coffee, Sarah Bunton - Award Winning Welsh Chocolatier, Bird & Blend Tea Co.

Our gift boxes are a little hug in a box, straight to your loved one's door. Whether you've been hugging your friends and family this week with restrictions lifting or you're still waiting for that special moment, sending someone our little hug in a box will always put a smile on their face.

Lets face it, you can never have too many hugs or too many books!

This past weekend marked a year since I did my first 5km which I kept going for 100 days straight. Some days expressing gratitude can be a challenge; when you're having a bad day, when you've received bad news, when the day, in general, is a struggle, but I found that by starting my day with expressing a bit of gratitude it made my mind go in to a positive space and it put me in a great frame of mind for the rest of the day.

The opportunity of acknowledging what we are grateful for was something I wanted to continue when setting up my business which is why with a Random Book of Kindness giftbox, the recipient will receive a daily gratitude diary designed by me, that they can either keep themselves or pass on to someone else when they pay their kindness forward. Just one of the treats that is included within each giftbox.

Today I am grateful for the sunny views on my doorstep in beautiful North Wales .....what are you grateful for today?

At Random Book of Kindness we are all about the unexpected gestures; the unexpected acts of kindness that surprise you when they arrive and put a smile on your face for the rest of the day.

It doesn't need to be someone's birthday, anniversary or a need of celebration to send them something special. It's the little things, the Just Because gestures that can mean the most and when you give someone the opportunity to pay that kindness forward to someone else, those ripples of kindness can really work their magic!

Who deserves a random act of kindness from you to put a spring in their step (and hopefully an emotional tear in their eye!)? If you want to send someone a little bit of kindness in the post from a sustainable small business, then we could be the perfect match for you.
You can find our Just Because giftbox on our website www.randombookofkidness.co.uk

The inspiration for Random Book of Kindness came after I ran 100 daily 5km Gratitude runs, dedicating each and every one to someone or something inspirational to me. Expressing daily gratitude made my days start off so positively I didn't want it to end (the daily 5.30am starts I was happy to end, just not the gratitude!), which led me to starting Random Book of Kindness, a sustainable gift box helping others show gratitude to their loved ones.

When my runs finished I got a shout out on Chris Evans' Virgin Radio Breakfast show (and on Zoe Balls too but whose bragging!) and this morning, whilst Chris Evans was talking about the release of his new running book, as well as Vassos Alexander's, it got me thinking about the amazing books that I have read about running. Here's just a selection of one's I have enjoyed and I'll look forward to adding more running books to my collection, along with more running medals.....now I do love a good medal.

What running books have you enjoyed? I love book recommendations so feel free to drop some ideas below.

Do you want to do something to help others that can also promote changes in the brain that are linked with happiness?

Being kind to others can really make a positive difference to them AND its also a fantastic thing to do for our own health too.

At Random Book of Kindness we are all about acts of kindness and showing those close and special to us just how much they mean to us. Not only that but we help get those ripples of acts of kindness going by giving the recipient of our boxes the opportunity to pay the kindness forward. They are encouraged to reuse the packaging and by using the additional card and wrapping that's included in each box they can send a random act of kindness to someone else.
It really is the gift that keeps on giving.

On World Health Day, why not do something for both your, and someone else's health and send someone a Random Book of Kindness gift.

I’m looking forward to when I can take my book to a local cafe, have a nice cup of coffee and cheeky bit of cake and indulge in some well earned ‘me time’. Though today I’m happy to reading on my decking, with a mug of Lost Barn Coffee and some left over (home made I might add!) birthday cake from my husbands recent birthday.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone ☀️

Today is the National day of reflection, 1 year since the first UK lockdown. I know this year really has reminded me that I have amazing friends and family in my life and also shown me the importance of telling those special people how much they mean to me.
It really is the little things that matter the most.
