Quick update!
Just an enormous thank you to everyone who ordered over the weekend. You have near as dammit cleared me out!!! There a couple of bits left in the shop for any last minute-ers included these two killers.
Everything now is either made, spun and dyed and I am now waiting for the weather gods to give me a good day or two for drying and we will be ready to ship.
First orders, those that had ready to ship items are packed and ready to go to the post office today. I’m hoping to get another load off Sat and the final packages Monday. So hopefully not to long to wait!
Having said I’m clearing out, I’m down to my last bits of packaging and I’ve run out of labels 😂😂😂 so I apologise in advance for the slightly Blue Peter vibe of some of your parcels. THE YARN is all good I promise!
Thank you wonderful humans ###x

So folks a little announcement to make. There’s something I’ve been meaning to share. Wulla and I have decided to amicably part ways! Consciously uncoupled or some such rubbish 😂Yes I know sad times but also happy times!

Post not post pandemic I’ve been trying to put the bits of my life back together and realised not all of them fit like they used to. I think the universe is telling me it’s time for new challenges. So it’s probably time to say thank you for the music and exit stage left..

Wulla has been my actual and absolute dream. My first foray into running a business, and I am sure won’t be the last and a real passion project. It’s been stressful at times but also a lot of fun. Aside from anything meeting all of youuuuuu in this funny social media space as well as face to face at craft shows!

Don’t worry I don’t have a new business to flog to you just yet, but I’m definetly ready for new challenges so if you want to find me and see probably mostly photos of the dog and a few scribbles I do, I’m over at .

ALSO if you are looking for a new passion project for 2022 and think you and Wulla would be aligned, then I am very happy to talk to anyone who would like to about taking it over. Just slide into my dms

For the time being the website and Etsy are still up and running while I sort out the last few bits of stock, and I’m having a grande sort out at the weekend so there might be some bargains to be had!

In the meantime much love and see you soooooon ###xx

I’ve named this Olympic Hopeful…
Two things I love about the olympics…
1) the actual children competing..how the bloody hell can you do that at 15/16/17…I could barely feed myself at that age..
And
2) the ‘oldies’ competing. Who all the commentators keep reminding us the viewers how amazing it is that they can still get out of bed at 35…let alone win said event….
Either way..it makes you feel like you might not be achieving enough with ur day..🤣.
Olympic hopeful is available in the shoppy shop..

Oh friendssss. The end of another very tumultuous year and the beginning of a new fresh one. If it’s been a toughie, I’m sending you lots of love and reminding you, you are allowed to waltz away from 2021 leaving all that schizzle right there if you want to! Just leaving that thought right there..
I’m packing up some of your lovely orders from this week. So this is just a reminder that there a few skeins left in the shop, and if you get me your orders in by tomorrow, someone is of going to get a random surprise ‘mystery’ yarn packed in their order too!!!!!

Well howdy folks. Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas so far, and you’re all still speaking to your various family members! There’s been quite the spread here at Chateau Davies, I’m trying to keep a steady pace.🤣
So all the new yarn is up on the website! (I hope)
The Keynezzz Collection is a homage to my hometown of Milton Keynes!
Bit of a mixture in there, some new bits for me and a couple of old favourites. So do check it out.

Well on the news today is that there’s a new round of applications for city status in the U.K. to mark the Queens Jubilee. My adopted hometown of Milton Keynes is in the mix..for the fourth time (starting to look a bit desperate guys just sayin’ 🤣).
So this seems like a very fortuitous time to share the fact that my new yarns dropping on the 26th Dec are in fact named for my hometown! Milk and Beans, Kyneeez mate. It welcomed me with open arms and I get sad that it’s so maligned(usually by those that don’t live here!).
What you outsiders don’t get is that all those roundabouts are like some massive Krypton Factor game (if u don’t get the reference ur farrr too young). We designed them to mess with your heads …if u can’t make it round..are you worthy???🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
So this lump of loveliness is of course named for our most iconic peice of public art..the concrete cows! Designed in 1978 by artist Liz Leyh they now live in the museum but you can still see replicas in the park. Why do we love them??? I don’t even know but how can you not.
Even the home stand at MK Dons is called ‘the cowshed’ apparently..
This post was brought to you by the Milton Keynes Yarn Tourist Board. 🐄🐮🐄.
200g of Handspun and Handdyed super chunky yarn.

EDIT my mother has reminded me that her first post uni job was for MK council planning department and she approved the planning application for the cows…so the love of the concrete cow runs in the blood.

Ahhh the week before Christmas , the week of 1000 errands..
How dreadful will shopping at the supermarket be? Enough to induce some form of breakdown to tune of ‘The Buble’ in the snack aisle.
Why do I always leave my MOT to the last minute and indeed the penultimate week of the year..
Why are we going to the Vets again and how have we spent more time here than I have at the doctors..?
Who thought ‘making’ Christmas gifts was a good idea?
Have I actually got time to do the day job? Answer probably not..
