It was a real privilege to be the only bookseller in attendance at the Publishing Scotland lunch at Oran Mor today celebrating a special visit from the International Publishing Fellowship - with members coming all the way from Norway, France, China, USA, Brazil, Germany and Ukraine 🌍

Publishing Scotland is the trade and network body for the book publishing sector in Scotland and, after a busy week of fellowship events in Edinburgh, the group stopped off in sunny Glasgow on the way to Oban ☀️

It was great to catch up with Scottish publishers Into Creative, Luath Press and Gaelic Books Council, and a joy to hear live readings from authors Gillian Shirreffs, Angus Peter Campbell, Jen Mowat and, especially, Graeme Armstrong (who’s new book Raveheart is a firm favourite at Daydreams) 📚

Thank you so much to Sheila, Vikki and the rest of the Publishing Scotland team for organising the lunch and inviting me along - a lovely wee Friday off ❤️

The big kids are back at school, so that means Stories & Yoga is back for the pre-schoolers🥳

Join us at 9:45 on Thursday morning for 30 minutes of fun stretching and actions related to a Julia Donaldson book, with local yoga and Cosmic Kids trained teacher Pamela 🧘‍♀️

🎟️ £6 for childen aged 2-5 (accompanying adults and younger siblings are free)

Most importantly, juice and biscuits are included 🧃🍪😋

Have you seen our beautiful new window painting?🎨😍

We were incredibly lucky to have Glasgow based illustrator Hazel Dunn Hazel Dunn working hard all weekend to create this wonderful window painting just for us!

The colours really pop and we know all of our customers, especially the wee ones will really love it!

Huge thanks to Hazel for, not only creating this work of art, but for signing copies of her amazing new board book “Scotland” - written by Ross Collins MacKay and published by Barefoot Books
