On this free group discussion I'll let you know what materials and tools you'll need to fix up your books in a conservational sound way that won't cost you more than a little time.

Following that click on the link for an online meet up where I guide you through the steps needed to repair your books. I recommend that to start with you work on non-valuable books.

I've been a craft bookbinder, book conservator and restorer for 30 years and have worked on family bibles, Japanese lacquer albums and many early printed books. I enjoy the process of bringing them back to usability and to looking good again. The meeting will involve you bringing some books to the zoom meeting. I suggest small ones for starters. And I'll let you know which books are good candidates for this work. Then I'll email you a materials list and invite you to book a paid session once you have what you need to get started.

Always an exciting moment - the tables are set out and on Saturday 35 book sellers from as far afield as Wales, York and Cambridge will be bringing their stock to the racecourse and creating the P.B.F.A. Brighton book fair. We make book fairs happen all across the country, all year long, and this year we're celebrating our half century.
