🏛️ Introducing From Pillar to Post — our new modular terrain system. Video now live!
We've been quietly working on something for a while now, and it's finally ready to show you properly.
From Pillar to Post is a modular terrain system built around one idea — terrain that's genuinely portable, genuinely affordable, and genuinely ready to play straight out of the box.
Here's how it works:
▪️ Ten pre-coloured resin pillars — square or hexagonal profile, 55mm tall
▪️ Seven colour options: jet black, ivory white, slate grey, brick red, terracotta, ice crystal, and ancient gold
▪️ Each pillar face has slots that accept cardboard wall strips
▪️ No painting. No glue. No drying time.
The walls are free. We're releasing a PDF download at no charge with external walls, internal walls, floors, doors and windows — in brick, stone, timber, plaster, carpet and tile textures. Print on standard A4, score, fold, and slot. That's it.
The pillars also work with Dungeon X and Crooked Dice's Set Designer PDF — so if you already own either of those, your walls slot straight in.

I've been quietly experimenting with something for a while now and finally put a video together about it. A while back I started looking at how model railway builders finish their scenery — and the quality difference compared to most wargaming terrain is striking. They don't paint their buildings. They wrap them in printed brick, stone and tile papers. The results look extraordinary. So I took a cheap OO scale railway kit, scaled it up to 28mm, cut the shell from 2mm greyboard, and applied the same technique. Total material cost: under £5.
No painting required at all.
I've also designed these buildings to cover multiple gaming periods using a magnetised sign and poster system — the same building works for a 1943 Normandy village, a Cold War street scene, a modern day setting, or a Walking Dead zombie apocalypse game. The signs swap out in seconds.
All the techniques and tools used are demonstrated in the video and links to the papers I used. If you've ever looked at your terrain and thought, it doesn't quite match the quality of your painted miniatures — this might be worth a look.

I came across a Kickstarter for some model buildings that fold flat and can be stored in an envelope. They sounded like a neat idea for a portable gaming set up for when we are away in our Campervan, so I've made a quick little YouTube video about them!
