Researching hydrangeas for an upcoming Elmley Nature Reserve wedding and revisiting this favourite from Updown

Soft green hydrangeas, trailing amaranthus, white anthuriums and delicate seasonal flowers threaded throughout the day from the church arrangements to the bouquets and reception tables.

And those mono bouquets are still some of my favourites. Can someone please ask me to make more?

A small floral study on the Margate coast - Day 1

This week's plan was to collaborate with Matt Matt | Photographer 🎞️ photographing flowers against the Margate coastline. Instead we were met with flat light, strong winds and a sky that refused to cooperate.

So it didn’t exactly go to plan 🫠

Despite that, I wanted to share these photographs. The focus shifted away from the sea and the sky and became more about place, texture and process. The wind blown stems feels very Margate to me.

Just a reminder to myself that not every experiment needs to come a perfect project to be worthwhile.

A small floral study on the Margate coast - Day 1

This week's plan was to collaborate with Matt Matt | Photographer 🎞️ photographing flowers against the Margate coastline. Instead we were met with flat light, strong winds and a sky that refused to cooperate.

Hot pink peonies and sea views at one of Margate's most iconic wedding venues 💘

For this May wedding , we designed flowers that felt vibrant and warm, and totally joyful perfectly complemented the gallery's contemporary spaces.

The peonies, garden roses and seasonal blooms brought movement and colour to every part of the day, from the bridal bouquet to the reception tables overlooking the coast.

It’s been a couple of weeks since but what a brilliant weekend at Gather Wedding Fair at the Turner Contemporary, Margate. It was such a joy not only to showcase my wedding floristry but also to officially introduce my new wedding styling service. Bringing together flowers, tablescapes, décor and styling into one creative vision feels like such a natural evolution for my work, and there couldn’t have been a more inspiring place to launch it.

The always attracts couples looking for something thoughtful, creative and a little different so it felt like the perfect setting to share this new chapter for Ultramarine. I wanted the stand to reflect the kind of weddings I love designing, modern but romantic, artistic yet relaxed, and always deeply personal to each couple. 

The response at Gather was incredibly lovely, and it was wonderful meeting so many couples at the beginning of their wedding planning journey. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, ask questions and share your ideas with me.
