Summer flowers have never looked so good 🌸

We’re seeing couples embrace flowers that feel seasonal, natural and full of movement.

Think locally grown peonies, flowering mint, foxgloves and delicate garden flowers arranged in loose, organic designs that feel as though they’ve always belonged there.

It’s one of our favourite summer wedding trends because it celebrates the season rather than fighting against it.

Summer days are wonderful, but warmer weather means your flowers and plants often need a little extra care to keep them looking their best.

For fresh flowers:
🌸 Top up the vase every day – flowers can drink surprisingly quickly in warm weather.
✂️ Don't skip trimming the stems every 2-3 days because this helps them absorb more water.
☀️ Keep bouquets away from sunny windowsills!
🧼 Give the vase a quick wash when changing the water to keep heat-loving bacteria at bay.

For houseplants:
🪴 Check the soil before watering – don't water to a schedule. In summer, some plants need more frequent watering, while others still prefer to dry out between drinks.
💦 Water in the morning or evening, when less moisture is lost to evaporation.
🚿 Give dusty leaves a gentle wipe or shower – cleaner leaves absorb more light and help plants thrive.
🌿 If your plant is suddenly leaning towards the window, give it a quarter turn every week to encourage even growth.

Flowers and fruit🍇🌸

One of our favourite wedding styling trends right now is pairing beautiful blooms with fresh produce to create rich, layered centrepieces full of colour, texture and personality.

It's a trend we couldn't resist exploring with Florence & Vera Events during our recent creative shoot at fivefourstudios , where our Plum Noir palette came to life through calla lilies, hydrangeas, anthuriums and an abundance of beautifully moody seasonal produce.

We layered grapes, plums, blackberries, figs, cherries, aubergines and even red cabbage throughout the styling to add unexpected texture, shapes and a real sense of abundance.

The result feels less like a traditional wedding centrepiece and more like a Renaissance still life brought to life.
