Because I fell in love - rather unexpectedly and HARD - 6 years ago, FurCats opened on the 1st July, 2017. It was a world I knew nothing about but I entered it, filled with excitement and joy and optimism and I was completely committed.
The build up, the planning, the help and support from friends and family and that sheer giddiness on the day of the opening! I genuinely could not have asked for, or, imagined it to be as delicious as it was.
It was a huge leap of faith - that the shop was something Chorlton - and I - both needed. The support I had by the cat community was phenomenal, but bizarrely, by a cat community I didn’t even know existed.
I didn’t even like cats, and then, when I rescued one, I was obsessed with him, then everyone else’s cat, then all dogs and then ALL LIVING BEINGS 🌱
When you believe in something, it empowers you to make things happen. And I was able to create a happy place for me and for a cat community who got together and swapped notes and pictures, laughed and cried, in a magic shop on Wilbraham Road.
