We are thrilled to be hosting the launch of sonya vatomsky ✨ соня ватомская's brilliant debut novel, Under A Fur Coat on Friday 25th September.

Set in the frosty Finnish forests, Vivienne has come here to recover from a broken heart and reignite her passion for photography. She shares a boarding house with a group of wanderers and oddballs, one of which is Gagarin; an eccentric mycologist on the hunt for a mythical fungus. But as Gagarin's search becomes more frantic and tensions rise, Vivienne starts to suspect that there is something more sinister at play here.

The Dead One, The Unconscious One, Thundering in Your Ear, Thriving Slumber:

Part ecopoetic inventory, part dream vision, this is an experimental book-length serial poem on the arboreal. Rewiring nature and language, Jay Gao's second collection is an inventory for dreaming treely, dispersed across a commons-place of grafting and cruising, racial and q***r desires, diasporic entanglements and renewal.

The Matter:

Padraig Regan's The Matter deepens the ekphrastic concerns of their previous work, directing their gaze towards naturally occurring objects. Divided into three parts of lyrical abundance - Animal, Mineral and Vegetable - the parts are linked by their attempts to imaginatively encounter the non-human (and at times, the inorganic) in ways that pay attention to the different formal or material possibilities of embodiment, and offer new foils for this remarkable poet's intense reflections on mortality and desire.

Absolute chaos in the bookish group chats this afternoon. Lots of reservations coming in for titles which made The Booker Prizes longlist. Big fan of this list; it's diverse, exciting and challenging. More stock to follow, of course!

Overjoyed to see event alums , Makenna Goodman and Rebecca Perry on there; we've been shouting about their books for a while now and are so happy that they're about to get a million more fans!

A wonderful evening celebrating the publication of Emily Midorikawa's debut novel A Tiny Speck Of Black And Then Nothing!

A cinematic novel of suspense and longing, it was great to hear Emily discuss the themes and writing of the book, and its road to publication with . Highlights included capturing complicated and unbalanced friendships in fiction, weaving in elements of Japanese folklore and history and trips to hostess bars!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support this wonderful novel. We've got signed copies in store and can't wait for you to read it!
