Every family has their own traditions and in recent years ours has been to grow our own pumpkins. This year our biggest weighs almost the same as our eldest!

Happy World Earth Day!

Over the years we have made many small and simple changes as a household in an attempt to become more sustainable.

I adopt this same ethos across my business. Be it the recycling of my delivery boxes into packaging for postal orders, the use of paper tape to package up local orders or even the themes of the books I choose to stock for stalls and promote.

I had a wonderful phone call this afternoon from The Family Funeral Service have kindly donated £180 to the Community Book Pledge. This means we have now hit £600 and The East Malling Centre will be receiving £960 worth of books. These books will distributed amongst the 80 children currently using the Food Larder.

Please, please, please tell me I’m not the only parent who has stop whatever we are doing so the children can watch and wave as the bins get collected each week? It was always a thing pre-covid but it has now become one of the highlights of the week!!

Yesterday marked the start of British Science Week - a ten day celebration of science, technology and maths. The theme for 2021 is ‘Innovating for the future’ and over the course of the week I’ll share various bits from Mini Professors Science Classes Ashford and Maidstone and the British Science Association for you to get involved with.

In the meantime, if you need any science book help just drop me a message. I’m somewhat of a science geek and love finding something to suit. These are just some of the science themed goodies that found their way into new homes in February.
