Did you know The Mall Maidstone has had more than one name?
When it first opened in 1976, it was known as the Stoneborough Centre, with the seven-storey office block above named Stoneborough House.
In the 1990s, the shopping centre was rebranded as the Chequers Shopping Centre as part of a major refurbishment and improvements to the main entrances. While the shopping centre got a new name, the office block kept its original name: Stoneborough House.
