Volunteering is the act of freely giving your time and effort to help others or support a cause, benefiting both the community and for yourself.
Jody, our Handmade with Love Co-ordinator asked our wonder Morrisons Strood knitting group, why they love volunteering, and this is what they shared.
🩷 I have really enjoyed meeting new people.
🩷 Gets me away from my husband for a couple of hours each week.
🩷 It’s good being with people that enjoy the same things as me.
🩷 Knitting for the charity means I know someone gets use of the things I make, just wish I could see babies or children in the things that I make.
🩷 It boosts my mood and mental health.
🩷 I’m crocheting for a purpose, the things are wanted and appreciated.
🩷 Meeting new people and enjoy contributing to a local charity.
🩷 I have learnt new skills and techniques from others in the group.
🩷 Gives me a reason to go out, look forward to coming and chatting to the others.
🩷 Finding out about the Making Miracles and what they do.
