The house move has been tough on this guy. He keeps asking to go home to “Mummy and Daddy’s house”. His world is upside down at the moment and the novelty of staying in a caravan seems to have worn off. Hopefully it won’t be much longer and we’ll be in our new home. Pop over to my stories to see how full my parents house is. I will be forever grateful to my Mum and Dad for letting us squeeze in but we’re definitely looking forward to getting into our own space.

It’s a working Wednesday for me which means lots of research at the moment. I’m really enjoying discovering new ways to use Instagram through lots of fantastic social media coach accounts I’ve found. Do you follow any accounts like this that get you excited about using social media for business?

Since deciding to close the shop and take time to figure out what direction I want to take Popper & Poobs in I have had this notebook with me nearly all the time. When an idea strikes or a thought pops into my head about something I should look into I scribble it down in here. This has been the starting point for all the research and designing I am now starting to do.

I was planning on having a chat over on stories but the rain on the caravan is too loud 😂 Lots of you enjoyed the tour around van and shared that you might be in a similar situation soon due to house moves or renovations. Oooft it’s been a while. As many of you know we are now temporarily living in my parents caravan on their drive whilst we are waiting for the purchase of our new house to complete. We’re now in the groove of living in a small space. All of our belongings are in storage and what we do have with us has now found a home. It’s cramped but it’s working.

T I M E F O R A N A D V E N T U R E

You may have seen on my stories yesterday that I have made the decision to close the shop for a long while. As a family we are about to embark on a new adventure, including a stint of living on my parents drive in their caravan for a few weeks. Popper & Poobs as a business is lacking a bit of direction at the moment so I am going to take the time to get us moved and settled into a new house. Streamline my bigs ideas for the business and come back when everything is a bit calmer.

I’ll keep you all in the loop with what is going on. I asked if you wanted me to share the chaos with you all and 100% of you said yes! Nice to know you are all nosey like me.

S H O P U P D A T E

I'm not going to bang on about as it is pants for us all but I need to give you an update with how Popper & Poobs is going to run for the next few months at least.

To limit the amount I am leaving the house I am only doing a post run once a week on a Wednesday which I will incorperate into my daily exercise. I have adjusted the dispatch times for all listings on Etsy now to reflect this. As ever, everything listed on Etsy is ready to ship and in stock but it will only be posted out on a Wednesday. Commissions are remaining closed for now.

I have also standardised my postage costs as I was losing money here. I find it so hard to price my products to offer you all a good deal but not lose out myself covering the cost of my materials and my time. I know I'm not the only one who struggles with this. In the next few months I will be reassessing my pricing as a whole but I will not make any changes without informing you first.

Finally, I just wanted to say - eventhough you may be sick of hearing it - be kind to yourself. If 2020 taught us anything it is to take time to slow down. Take the pressure off yourself. There is always tomorrow 💜

I’ve decided I’m going to take the Christmas decorations down tonight. Now that the festivities are over I really want to step up the packing of the house. Of course also sewing in between all of it.

H A P P Y N E W Y E A R

New Year’s Eve is normally a big deal in my family but after this year I am completely content in spending it in our home. The place that has been a haven throughout this roller coaster of a year. I’m happy to be spending it with my two boys. I’m currently cooking a beige buffet for our tea. Then when the small one is in bed the fizz is being popped, the PJs are going on and the board games are coming out.

I know I say it all the time but thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the push I needed to start Popper & Poobs. It’s got a long way to go and I’m so ready to develop in 2021!! I hope you stick around for the ride 💜

Hello you lovely lot! I’ve decided to close my custom order book for the foreseeable due to the house move. Once we’re settled in the new place and I’ve got a work space that isn’t in disarray I’ll be able to open it back up.

I’m not closing my Etsy shop so you’ll still be able to get ready to ship items from there. It’s just custom bits that I’m not able to do at the moment. Forever trying to achieve that work life balance pretty much all of us struggle with!
