June is proving a sleepy month for us, the shop has been very quiet and unfortunately so have bookings for workshops 😔

We would love it if you are planning a day out you pop and see us please or if you have five minutes you have a look at what workshops are out for booking. We know it's a really tough time at the moment, so even if you can just pop in and say hello, or tell a friend about us or share a post, we would so appreciate it ❤️

Over the last few months we have been researching heritage crafts that are on the at risk, endangered and red list with heritage crafts. You can visit their website to find out more:

It's been fascinating finding out about the traditions that sit behind many crafts we know and love today. The one craft which is on the red list which has brought me so much joy and interest over the last few months is the tradition of quilting on a frame. The idea of having frames in kitchens where families sat around together stitching onto a whole cloth quilt is fabulous. I have been amazed my the tradition, designs and the thought of bringing people together to craft.

We therefore want to carry on the journey and over the summer months we will be out visiting exhibitions and museums. We are already building our library of books and quilts to share and we will be learning the art of quilting of the frame so we can bring groups together to sew together.

It's fantastic to be able to delve into this tradition, learn and share with you, all about it. From September on our aim is to be able to do workshops and talks about this tradition and share the beautiful work created.
