Good morning, it's Thursday 18th June 2026 and here at The Mystical Cat, the sky is looking just a smidge grey 🤔

Apparently today is Sustainable Gastronomy Day. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2016, the day emphasises the role that food systems play in achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to climate action, zero hunger, and responsible consumption.

The day celebrates food that is healthy, environmentally responsible, and rooted in local traditions and highlighting culinary practices that protect biodiversity, minimize food waste, and support local farmers.

We are great advocates of locally sourced, great quality produce. Those who have followed us for a while are aware that once a month we get our supply of pork and lamb from Plump Hill Farm and daily we get our James Gourmet Coffee Co Ltd coffee from our neighbours here at Harts Barn Craft Centre, the Old Dairy Tearoom ....but there are so many other great food producers in and around the Forest of Dean where we are. Cheese, butter, ice cream, fruit, veg, coffee and alcohol plus lots more other things besides if you live locally to us you'll know and if you visit, take the time to visit one of our local eateries where local is key!

So on that note whatever you are doing today, we hope you have a good one.

Good morning, happy Wednesday 😊 a bit of a damp start to today but it's brightening up here at The Mystical Cat.

We know a lot of people love the sun but for us everything is about balance ⚖️ yin and yang, dark and light, good and bad, angels and demons, happy and sad....the concept that in order to have the balance we need, there are forces that are opposite but complementary which work and interact together. Obviously this is a massive subject and one that has been discussed for thousands of years across many civilisations.

So we wont go too far down the hole on this now, but for us, we do know that balance is key, sun and rain....we need both to survive, for our farmers to help animals and crops to thrive....balance, for us, is crucial.

So on this damp start to the day, with the starts of what could be a very big debate, we wish you a very happy day whatever you are doing and wherever you are.

Hello, it's Tuesday and our first day back at The Mystical Cat shop for the week.

It might be our first day back for the week here at Harts Barn Craft Centre, but we had a busier than normal Monday visiting Yeleni Therapy & Support Complementary Health Centre & Charity in Hereford to meet the new High Sheriff and also for our Trustee Meeting.

For those who don't know about Yeleni, they aim to provide a programme of free complementary therapies plus ongoing support via workshops, self help groups and exercise classes for anyone with cancer as well as their carers in Herefordshire and the surrounding counties to help them cope with the rigours of conventional treatment and support them on their journey towards living well with, and beyond cancer. In addition their talented therapists offer all types of complentary wellbeing support for paying clients, whether individual or through a business. Hello 👋 it's Sunday and another lovely warm day lies ahead today. We are in and open along with some of the other courtyard terrace businesses on this glorious day. It's definitely an Old Dairy Tearoom coffee ☕️and teacake morning 🙌

As most of you who've followed us for a while know, it's our last working day of our week today as we always have Mondays off. Usually it's to rest and reset day however tomorrow afternoon we will be wearing our trustee hat at the amazing Yeleni Therapy & Support Complementary Health Centre & Charity in Hereford who we are proud to support 💙

We are also proud to support the multitude of crafters we have at our little shop. Today one of our Jackie's has dropped off a few more of the much requested Tree of Life Earrings in even more designs....who knew 1 symbol could become so many different levels of beauty?

Please pop down and see them and us today at Harts Barn Craft Centre. We are open until around 4pm ish today. And if not, whatever you are doing, have an amazing day.

Good morning again 😀. We are here at The Mystical Cat and open at Harts Barn Craft Centre 🙌 and just getting our coffee from our neighbours at the Old Dairy Tearoom. Good news though is that we decided NOT to have coffee at The Forest Bakehouse this morning so hopefully won't be too hyper 🫣🤪😂

There's quite a few people around and about here at Harts Barn Craft Centre, a class going on in Harts Barn Cookery School and other shops and businesses open for pampering, browsing and buying 😁. Apart from those mentioned already some of the other businesses onsite include our own alter ego Leap Holistic Therapies, The Lavender Stone Florist , Holistic Health Massage & Massage Trainer, Heavenly Head Massage, Release Holistics, Miscellany and Quirk Vintage and Collectables, The Troll House, Crafty Upcycling, Bridie Thorne Hairdressing, The Forest Larder, Anna Cole Beauty, Broadlands Pottery, Creative Needles, Riverwood - Artisan Bridalwear and Wye Creative. All businesses have their own opening hours with some being bookable services only, so please check out their details on their own FB pages.

Yesterday we had a few mini bits and pieces in, see pics 📸 which'll be the last new stock until mid next week.

Good morning, it's Saturday and as it's the second Saturday of the month it means only one thing......Plump Hill Farm collection day at The Forest Bakehouse 😀 and of course a catch up and coffee ☕️ with one or 2 of our favourite farmers 😊

Good morning Mystical Cat followers...it's Friday and another weekend is only one sleep away....🙌 well unless you're current sleep deprived like us and soooo many others we've spoken to this week....the air feels like treacle (again) and we've not seen anything specific going on holisticly, spiritually, astrologically or astronomically....have we missed it? Please tell us what you think.

We did finally get the last of the deliveries out yesterday although have some random bits and pieces to get out today but we do now sort of have a father's day section and have marked up the doggy care section and the pet friendly wax melts. TBH like everything it may move again, but we'll see.

The rain seems to have dissipated and whilst there are puffy white clouds in the sky, its looking like it's going to be a dry one with the temperature increasing over the next couple of days as well.

The World Cup ⚽️ finally started last night if you're into football, however here in GB and us at The Mystical Cat central are more into watching the tennis 🎾 which yesterday was rained off 😤

We started typing this message a little while ago now 😬 so sorry for the delay in posting, so on that note, whatever you are doing today, have a great day....it'd be nice to know what you're up to this weekend 😊comment below.

Good morning, it's Thursday and we are in for a somewhat soggy day here at Mystical Cat central at Harts Barn Craft Centre 😪
The rain won't stop us though, we are in and open with our one-a-day coffee in hand ☕️

Yesterday we were expecting 2 deliveries bur all 3 orders arrived. Whilst there is some replacements such as incense and sage, there are A LOT of new lines. We have pictured them all and are still working on getting them out though.

We have picked some affordable teacher's gifts for the end of term, some could also be for a father's day gift or even for school friends parting ways 🎁 We like to ensure that our gifts can be used for multiple purposes if possible, and are affordable.

We have also increased our range of pet friendly wax melts 🫣 and introduced some doggy shampoo bars along with the fast selling aromatherapy, doggy rollerball "Calm the Fluff Down" 🐕

So on that note we wish you a happy day 😊

Good morning, it's Wednesday 10th June 2026. Even though the weather is a little changeable, the official summer is around the corner 🙌

Here at The Mystical Cat we have a couple of deliveries in later today 😁 so will have a busy afternoon pricing, taking pics amd moving things around to get the new stock in 🫣

One announcement ....we are planning to hold an evening local craft fayre on Wednesday 22nd July from abround 5pm to 8pm ish. We have permission to use a garden here at Harts Barn Craft Centre so the event will be outside with the Harts Barn Cookery School being saved for other things to be announced soon 😁. Crafters will need to bring their own gazebo (max size 3 x 3) and table/chairs and yes, there will be a nominal fee. If you are interested in a space please email us at [email protected] telling us a bit about what you make/sell. We will aim for limited amounts of the same products so the sooner you contact us the higher up the list you will be.
