At Perky Blenders, we like to think of ourselves as one big family. It’s still us here. Hello. When all this is over, we’d love you to drop by for a visit.

That’s because family is in the very foundations of our business: we were family-formed back in 2015 by brothers Tom and Adam Cozens, along with Adam’s wife, Victoria. And even back then, operating as a humble little coffee cart outside St James’ Street station, we had the same aims as we do now: to be responsible, friendly and accessible to all. And though we’ve since stretched our latte-fuelled

legs beyond that converted three-wheeled Piaggio Ape, we’re the same coffee up-and-comers waxing lyrical about single origin beans to the good people of Waltham Forest. A few years on, we now have four shops within the borough, and we supply our coffee to over 50 stores – including Wholefoods, the award-winning Eat17 Spar shops and big chill. In the last few years, we’ve been featured in the Indy Best’s ‘Best Coffee Subscription Services,’ and have recently won two Time Out Awards as the ‘Best Coffee Place’ within three London Postcodes. And we’ve opened our second roastery, with a state-of-the-art 20kg Petrocini Specialty Roaster that we’re pretty proud of, and plenty more space to swing cats/coffee sacks. These are strange times, but one bonus is that we’re meeting lots of friendly new (virtual) faces via the subscription side of our business. Coffee can sometimes be a secretive, snobbish industry – but we want to change that perception. So whether you’re a V60 veteran or you’re just taking your first baby(chino) steps in learning how to brew, you’re welcome in the Perky family. ☀️ August Coffee of the Month - Agua Fresca

HINTS OF: Hibiscus, Sugarcane, Citrus fruits

This month we're heading to Nicaragua and Ecuador with a vibrant summer blend that celebrates two incredible coffee-growing regions.

The Nicaraguan coffee comes from Finca San Ramon, nestled within the Dipilto mountain range near the Honduras border. Producer Donald Efrain Roque is the third generation of coffee farmers in his family and has dedicated his life to coffee. In 2006, he entered the Cup of Excellence for the first time, achieving a strong result that inspired him to return again in 2009 and 2011 with further success. Donald has been working with our import partners, Caravela, for five years, and through his work in specialty coffee has developed a deep understanding of quality and the potential of coffee from the Dipilto region. Today, he is passionate about continuing this legacy and encouraging more farmers in the region to focus on producing high-quality coffee.

The second component comes from Puyango in southern Ecuador, where coffee thrives amongst rolling hills, lush valleys and fertile soils. Along the mountains surrounding the Lagunas de Saraguallas, a group of coffee farmers contribute to the Altos de Saraguallas blend, producing coffees celebrated for their distinctive flavour profiles and helping support the local community.

Whether you're brewing a bright filter coffee or an iced coffee to enjoy in the sunshine, this seasonal blend is made for summer sipping.

Expect lively citrus and juicy stone fruit up front, balanced by silky caramel sweetness and a crisp, refreshing finish.

This is a new version of Friday you have to try.

I started at Perky with a locally roasted coffee, took the scenic route through Walthamstow, and found my way to somewhere that instantly slowed everything down.
sauna , newly opened on Shernhall Street, already feels like it’s always belonged. Step inside, and something in you simply exhales.

The heat wraps around you - No phone, no thoughts, just stillness. An hour that belongs entirely to you.

A stop by on the way back to pick up a few things for the weekend.

And then the frappe. The refresher after the most perfect E17 day.

You don’t always need to go far to feel like you’ve been somewhere. Sometimes it’s just this, your neighbourhood. A really good Friday!
